A librarian at New York University suffered serious race fatigue at Chicagos American Library Association (ALA) last month, experiencing mounting anger and frustration after having hit her limit of dealing with white people.
April Hathcock, scholarly communication librarian at NYU, summed up her experience at the ALA in her blog as nothing short of a sea of excruciating whiteness.
Five straight days of being tone-policed and condescended to and splained to by an 88 percent white profession, she wrote. Five days of mounting anger and frustration that you struggle to keep below the surface because you cant be the angry and emotional person of color yet again.

Poor helpless victims. They should be embarrassed for being so fragile.
I have the same symptoms but it only seems to be having to deal with trunk monkeys
Well, has the poor thing considered packin’ her shit and heading to say, oh .... the Congo ?? Fewer honkie’s over there . I’m sure she would be on much firmer mental ground from the stresses of dem white folk. Just sayin’ .....

Was she in The 24 Hours Of LeMans?
Wow.
Did she make it to the podium?
I could’ve raced at LeMans.
If I had a race car.....and sponsors....and I didn’t crash every hundred feet.
Don’t we all work to keep frustration and anger below the surface while on the clock? Isn’t that expected professional behavior? When at work I smile when I feel like scowling and speak calmly when I feel like snapping.
Annoying co-workers/clients/customers are everywhere and people with all levels of melanin have to deal with them day in and day out.
Great name.
Great name.
Wow, get a load of that. I bet her chair has structural fatigue.
Might be wise to move to a nation that has more blacks.
No sympathy here but lots of schadenfreude.
Who according to her blog has the rest of the summer off.
But really, one ought to see beyond the color of their skin.
