A University of Delaware professor is under a barrage of fire for social media posts stating Otto Warmbier, who passed away after 18 months of brutality from the North Korean regime, “got exactly what he deserved” for being a privileged, white male and his type “think nothing of raping drunk girls at frat parties and snorting cocaine.”

“Is it wrong of me to think that Otto Warmbier got exactly what he deserved?” Professor Katherine Dettwyler wrote on her Facebook page. “He went to North Korea, for f*ck’s sake, and then acted like a spoiled, naive, arrogant US college student who had never had to face the consequences of his actions. I see him crying at his sentencing hearing and think ‘What did you expect?’”

Rate My Professor is a great site. After you hand in the professor evaluations on the last day of class you can go to this site and warn other students in detail about not taking them. Or you can highly praise a professor who truly deserves it. And the whole world gets to read it.

Otto was very naïve by not realizing the danger of NK. However, he was young and foolish like a lot of us were at one time. To say he got what he deserved, is like saying a child got what he deserved by crossing the street and getting hit by a car.
