I just watched Season 2 , Episode 7, of Futurama, on Netflix. In this cute but endemically Leftist cartoon series, Richard Nixon is a recurrent character, always portrayed as a scientifically preserved, living head in a jar. He is always tricky, conniving, and stupid.
But in this particular episode he runs for President in the year 3000. He is now depicted as one of the most typically evil, scheming, destructive personalities ever spawned.
In factat the endNixon is ultimately transformed into a vicious, two-story tall, death cyborg who rampages around just killing people and crushing automobiles. He apparently does this because of endemic, monumental hatred that motivates and consumes himand all Republicans.
In the warped, projecting, liberal mind, that was the real Nixon. And in their collective, deluded mind it represents all of todays Republicans,
Conservatives and the Right Wing.
It represents you and me.
President Richard Nixon was a top pick by a global war hero who had measurably helped win WWII. He had been President Eisenhowers Vice President. This had been no light-hearted, stupid choice by Eisenhower, the architect of D-Day.
But Nixon was destroyed in real life by the rabid US media and the mad-dog Democrats, because of what he thought. He was destroyed for what he wanted to do, but never actually did.
At least, that was the story, cover, or legend for the op offered by the Deep State, at the time of Nixons demise.

Nixon was destroyed because he outed Hiss.
L
Exactly, yes. That was one reason. Alger Hiss; kids: look that one up
That is part of it.
Ouch...
I used to think Matt Groening needed to take a course in art, until I saw the awful cartoons drawn by Ted Rall.
By the way, I have heard Nixon called rather liberal, compared with other Republican presidents. He favored wage-price controls, for instance.
And created the EPA, OSHA and the 55mph speed limit.
If you love those, you love Nixon.
Nixon was THE BEGINNING of the media realizing they could dictate the agenda, and had the power to remove an actual president, through nothing more than 24/7 negative coverage.
Trump is defeating them by ignoring the media, and their ridiculous nerd-prom they held Saturday night was proof how stupid and irrelevant they are becoming
Who wants to attend the ‘prestigious’ White House correspondents dinner (and they are OH SO ELITE!) when the occupant of The White House doesn’t even want to attend.
AND Nixon took us off the gold standard, if I recall correctly
That damnable 55 speed limit was a piece of work too.
He wanted 50mph for cars and 55mph for commercial trucks but the transport industry balked saying it would be unsafe.
He also tried to ban ornamental lighting. All part of the oil crisis of 73'-74'.
Just imagine driving from San Antonio to El Paso doing 50mph on a long and empty I-10.
I agree, Nixon gets WAY TOO MUCH CREDIT from our side for being a so-called ‘conservative’, given his WAGE AND PRICE CONTROLS, the EPA, the original Clean Water Act, the original Clean Air Act, selling out Taiwan, and God knows what else.
But I have to admit, I didn’t know he was a GUN GRABBER also.
...and for all his Leftist actions, what did it get him at crunch time? The Dems were NOWHERE TO BE FOUND regarding support of him, and the Republicans were likely sick of him siding with the Dems all the time.
Longest-running animated American series, longest running American sitcom, and longest running scripted prime-time series. Matt’s done OK.
Blog pimping?

A Kenyan lawmaker told the nation's Parliament last month (March 2010) that Barack Obama was born in Africa and is therefore "not even a native American."
During debate over the draft of a new Kenyan constitution, James Orengo, the country's minister of lands and a member of parliament for the Ugenya constituency, cited America's election of a Kenyan-born president as an example of what can be accomplished when diverse peoples unite:
"If America was living in a situation where they feared ethnicity and did not see itself as a multiparty state or nation," Orengo posited, "how could a young man born here in Kenya, who is not even a native American, become the president of America?"
Orengo held up the U.S. as a country no longer "living in the past," since Americans elected a Kenyan-born president without regard to "ethnic consideration and objectives."
Debate is then recorded in the Kenyan government's official March 25, 2010, hansard a traditional name for printed transcripts of a parliamentary debate as continuing with no other MPs mentioning or attempting to correct Orengo's comments about Obama.
From what I’ve seen, I believe you have this 100%, mate.
Probably about that same time that Governor Reagan pushed for the outlawing of open-carry in California, and later signed it.
Ike was a complicated guy. Remember when a reporter asked him if he could name a major idea that he'd gotten from Nixon and put into effect. Eisenhower answered, "If you give me a week, I might think of one. I don't remember."
Ike apologized later privately -- Eisenhower and Nixon eventually became relatives when Ike's grandson married Nixon's daughter -- but his relationship with Nixon was troubled and not easy to characterize.
But Nixon was destroyed in real life by the rabid US media and the mad-dog Democrats, because of what he thought. He was destroyed for what he wanted to do, but never actually did.
Nixon put it better himself: Always remember, others may hate you, but those who hate you don't win unless you hate them, and then you destroy yourself.
This quote of Nixon's also shows greater insight than whoever wrote this article: I gave 'em a sword. And they stuck it in, and they twisted it with relish. And I guess if I had been in their position, I'd have done the same thing.
