More African-Americans appear to be taking an active interest in their right to bear arms since the election of President Donald Trump, gun club leaders and firearm sellers say.
A national African-American gun club has doubled its membership since Election Day, and gun sellers say they've noticed more black customers buying firearms.
At Stoddard's Range and Guns in Atlanta, one thunderous clap after another reverberates through the room, mixing with laughter and the smell of gunpowder. A group of men are bonding over a hobby they love. Moments later, with their clips empty and a stream of hot shell casings on the floor around them, each man holds up his target showing clusters of bullet holes.
They are members of the National African American Gun Association, a group that has added 9,000 members since Election Day, said Philip Smith, the group's national president. The group launched on Feb. 28, 2015, and added 4,285 members over the same time period the year before, between Nov. 2015 and Feb. 2016.
"I'd be lying to you if I said Donald Trump hasn't affected our numbers," Smith said. "They have jumped off the roof."
NAAGA now has more than 18,000 members in 24 chapters across the country.

In 2008, overall gun sales surged after President Obama's election. Weapons dealers attributed the increased sales to fears that Obama and a Democratic-controlled Congress would move to restrict gun ownership. In contrast, overall sales of guns and ammo dipped immediately following Trump's election....

I hope no one mistakes my comment as being racist motivated. Maybe its not the NAAGA members at all, maybe its the article author that wants to put a political spin on this. As long as these are law abiding folks, I don’t really care what color they are.
any one of theses new gun enthusiasts are future conservatives as far as I am concerned even if they decided to become gun owners because they don’t trust conservatives. the very act of becoming proactive in taking care of there own security is another crack in liberalism even if the motivation is misguided.
95% of murdered blacks are killed by other blacks.
But only now do they feel threatened. While thousands of them are killed a year and have been for a long time. Some people, groups need to start looking within their own family’s and communities. No problem with them having guns.
Creating more racism by segregating themselves.
Imagine the meltdown if WHITE gun club membership surged when obama got into office, with the clear implication that the whites were afraid of what the blacks would do.
The outcry against a *white* gun club would bury it and shrieks and screams of racism from the left would absolutely ensue and be used to *prove* that white’s are racist.*.
According to TTAG, The group is 15% white and 60% women. The site looks good too.

As a thirty year member of a local sportsmen’s club
which includes rifle/pistol, trap, 5 star archery
ranges along with a club house w/kitchen, full service bar,
and meeting hall, I endorse the African American gun
owners. They have the right without question. However,I am personally curious as to why they
separate themselves from non African American gun
owners. What are the issues that distinguish them?
Our club in rural California has a 200 limit
membership. Currently numerous women are full
members along with at least one African American
male and one Japanese American male.
If it’s just because of race, it is continuing to foster racism.
That is not necessarily true but it does provoke
reasonable questions.

Blacks created a separate gun club just for black people because they are proud of their race and don't want to be white or any other race.
The same goes for Hispanics with LA Raza and all their groups, too.
And Asians. And every other race and ethnic group and all their interest groups.
There's nothing wrong with it, and naive cucked Conservatives can whine and complain all they want. Nothing will change.
It's the natural order of the world. Race and identity matters.

And any objection I have isn’t against the fact that people want to hang out and identify with others like themselves.
It’s against the blatant hypocrisy that demands “equality” with whites and forces whites to deny their own race by being forced to include others, and then turns around and does the very thing they condemn in others.
How would a *White* gun club go over? It wouldn’t stand a snowballs chance in hell. People would be screaming *racism* until it capitulated and yet when blacks, Hispanics, whatever, form their own group, it’s not racism, it’s a matter of ethnic pride.

there are lots of black conservatives. just as there are a lot of white leftists.....right now the blacks vote over whelming for leftist idology....as far as I am concerned a reaction from the damage that has happened from president Johnson’s great society policies... there is hope for anyone that they will break from leftist ideology when they start to realize it is not working.
And besides, it isn’t whites who scream racist at every turn and demand an end to it.
Still don’t understand what this has to do with Trump. If there were attacks on blacks at Trump rallies, it would have been broadcast.
People on the left are so motivated by urban myths and rumor. It is sad in a day with open sources of information.
