As hunters, we live for moments when bucks are active or vocal while in the deer woods. It is not always that hunters witness another buck kill one of its own.
This bloody buck fight is a rare sight and hardly occurs much less in front of hunters.
This hunter luckily took his video camera into the woods on the right day. One buck encroached on another bucks does, and the older buck left no question about who was boss. See the footage here.
Was that bucks rack registered? Did it have a permit? Was the surviving buck charged with a hate crime? These are the facts that HuffPo would want to know.
sick
I disagree that bucks killing each other hardly happens. We found 2 sets of bucks, meaning 4 HUGE bucks dead with their horns locked together on our ranch last week. This is a common occurrence during the rut.
“Nature, red in tooth and claw...”
In the end, was it coyotes or boars that ate the dead deer?
I wouldn’t consider that “killing each other. “ Had they not locked antlers, one would probably have retreated after some fighting. It’s not in the genetic interest of the.herd to kill off opponents who, in all likelihood, are related.
This is obviously the fault of Trump's vicious rhetoric.
Give the deer coffee.
That will fix them right up.
My son shot a buck the last day of season that was a mercy killing, actually.
He had been gored very badly and was so full of infection that he just left it.
How so?
I am an animal lover and this makes me sad. That said, I used to be military, my kids and I are gun owners and know how to use them, I am not opposed to hunting or fishing for food.
Just don’t glorify violence for violence sake.
LOL! No I don’t think the bucks intend to kill each other. They are fighting to get the does! Everyone knows that. Because of that, we just lost the 4 biggest bucks on our place.
Yeah. Probably only two years separated fhem in age, probably closely related. But think of the offspring they’ ve produced. Hope you got some nice antlers out of it, anyway.
Could have been an interesting video if the cameraman and editor were halfway competent.
I too love animals, but, in nature, they do what they do. It is not ‘sick’.
