One Florida mom is livid after her child was taught a valuable, potentially life-saving lesson in his school.
The Jacksonville parent, who is choosing to remain anonymous, claims Mandarin Oaks Elementary and the National Rifle Associations gun safety program Eddie Eagle are responsible for informing her 7-year-old son that the message shes been proclaiming all these years is wrong.
Mommy, youre wrong. Toy guns are okay. See, guns are okay, mom. See? It says so right here, the mother said her son told her.
Theyve just undone seven years of parenting in one hour, the mother told reporters.
Duval County Public Schools said parents are usually notified when resource officers are presenting the program to Mandarin Oaks students and given an opportunity to opt their children out, but the parents of students in one classroom did not receive a letter.
The Eddie Eagle gun accident prevention program is responsible for educating 29 million children on what to do if they ever come across a gun: STOP!, dont touch, run away and tell a grown up.

One of the comments said it best:
Teaching children to not touch a gun and get an adult? Are you crazy? Next thing you know they'll be teaching them to look both ways before crossing a street and not to take candy from strangers, touch hot stoves,or stick forks into electrical outlets!Where will this madness end? "Sarc off"
Haha! She’s not happy with her son being “De-Snowflaked”...
My boys knew from the time they were big enough to understand not to touch a gun without me present.
But it’s okay to teach kids the proper technique for fellatio, and where to go for an abortion, thereby undoing years of moral upbringing?
Get your priorities straight, sister. You’re seriously screwed in the head if you think firearm safety training is more dangerous than Heather’s two mommies.
I bet this mom is a champion of sex ed for 5 year olds and practicing putting condoms on bananas at the age of 7.
I have long wished that they would teach the NRA handgun safety course in school. I learned so much when I took it, and teaching safety is paramount. We teach how to put on condoms, and we are told that has nothing to do with promoting premarital sex and everything to do with keeping them safe. Same reasoning should be used for this.
Maybe the mom should consider moving to Massachusetts or D.C.
Alternatively, she can find a proper private school or home school. That’s how folks like us having been dealing with a school system that imparts values that are not our values.
...Theyve just undone seven years of parenting in one hour,
Seven years of parenting that needed to be undone.
What an awful mom. Depriving your 7 year old son of a toy gun is like never taking your kids to Disney or Six Flags. Just cheap and selfish.
Theyve just undone seven years of parenting in one hour, the mother told reporters.
Sounds more like they picked up the slack in your non-parenting.
I’ve said many times that Eddie Eagle needs to be mandatory in every grade school.
Liberals think it is about teaching kids to kill each other when it actually saves lives
This is what we call a “failed mother”.
She has no concept of raise sons, reality, or anything outside her eunuched reality.
If she was really so confident she would let people know her home is a burglary safe zone. Free for all to take her possessions and/or life.
My cowgirl outfit and shiny silver toy revolvers were among my most prized possessions in my childhood. I survived without going stark, raving mad.
Nobody does gun safety better than the NRA. The kid is better off for it. Poor little guy is going to need years of therapy to get over having that loon for a mother.
Or he could take up shooting and work through his stress at the range.
Truth hurts.
Go, Eddie Eagle!
D logic. Don’t teach people gun safety. Then complain that guns are unsafe.
One of the best things that happened to my kids was shooting (with training) at age 6 or 7. After that they had respect for and not curiosity about guns. And they knew the difference between a toy and a weapon.
I had no concern with what would happen if they found one at a friend’s house. If you really want kids to go to adults about something, you need to take away the curiosity.
I see think three females in photo?
They will probably have Non Snowflake children.
Those children will be lucky to have them as, Mom!
She would not have a problem if it were cross dressing classes though I bet.
Where is, or was there a Failed Father?
Sadly, him and about 50 million other snowflakes out there.
