Asking my FRiends here to please say a prayer for my father (his name is Don) who is having major surgery in a few days. He is over 80 years old, and is on blood thinners, so any form of surgery is significant.
Thanks
Youre welcome. It's on September 1, but they haven't given him an exact time yet - said they wouldn't know that until 1 to 2 days before the surgery. I'm not sure why that is; whenever I've had surgery I've always known the exact time well in advance. When is the surgery? Id like to set aside some time to be in prayer during the surgery, if I can.
Thank you so much for this. I'm always humbled by the kindness of strangers.
Thank you, BlessedBeGod and late bloomer.
My husband is getting an epidural that afternoon. I may not have any time by myself until afterwards, when he finally gets some sleep. And I won’t be far behind. But I will definitely find some time for prayer, early that morning, and then late afternoon/evening. God bless you and your Dad.
My husband is getting an epidural that afternoon. Will add him to my prayers as well. If its an epidural for back issues, tell him not to be dishearened if it feels worse for a few days. That was the case when I had it done, but after that it started improving immediately.
Lower back, and the pain goes all the way to his foot. His other side is weak from a stroke, so he’s confined to bed most of the time, until he can get some relief.
I didn’t realize it would hurt worse before it gets better. *sigh*

His other side is weak from a stroke, so hes confined to bed most of the time, until he can get some relief. It was only a few days for me, and they told me usually it is just the day after that it's worse. Well worth it.I didnt realize it would hurt worse before it gets better. *sigh*
Also, if you haven't already, look into a TENS device, It is a small, inexpensive, device that administers small electrical impulses to the area on which you place it. The nerve signals this triggers have priority in the brain over the pain signals, so your brain doesn't notice the pain. For me, the back issue caused transfered pain in my knee, similar to your husbands pain in his foot. I put this thing on my knee and it gave me some relief from the pain. A real godsend. You can buy one at any major drugstore, Walgreens or whatever, for about $25
Prayers for Don and for you and all the family who are worrying about him and the upcoming operation.
Thank you, Col Freeper
When is the surgery? Id like to set aside some time to be in prayer during the surgery, if I can.Surgery is 5:30am Eastern time, Sept 1. I guess this surgeon likes to get an early start.
Somehow I missed your post last night, but I’m praying now. God bless your Dad.
Thank you! Dad in surgery now, will be in there until 1 or 2pm Eastern time.
My dad is out of surgery now, but not awake yet. Everything went well.
Thanks to all for the prayers!
Glad to hear it!
Hubby got his epidural about a half hour ago. Went well.
Have a blessed day!
Hubby got his epidural about a half hour ago. Went well.So happy to hear that. I hope it gives him as much benefit as it has for me.
How is your husband doing? Has the epidural helped?
How is your father?
Yes, it helped, but he still may need a 2nd one.
How’s your Dad?
I am glad to hear that it helped.
Dad is doing fine - a bit goofy from the pain meds.
So glad to hear your Dad is doing well! Hoping each day brings less pain and more strength. Keeping him in my prayers for complete recovery!
Thanks, 4i
