When i first started watching the primary debates, trump always reminded me of a John Wayne movie.
When Gabby Hays said of John Wayne: Boy, look what has come to town.

Those are Republicans.
We’ll have to wait for random-sample polls to see whether the country liked it.

I live in the UK....In Brexit mny thousands/millions who had never voted, or not voted for decades voted. The Pollsters had no idea, who or where they were, so never polled them, but the Brexit vote gave them a chance to change and save democracy.
My bet is that in the US people are even more pissed off, mny of these are the ones who have stopped/never voted etc.....they will vote for Trump in droves.
So yr right.

Like I said, long speeches are not my thing but I’ll defer to you two on this one.

This speech showed (or should show, if they could learn) the Bushes, McVain, Romneykins, et al. what THEY should have been doing all these years.
...
Yes, you’re right. The GOPe rejected Reaganism in spite of its success. Now Trump has revived it and made it his own.
Wasn’t the convention wonderful without the Bushes, McCains and Romneys?

Hillary is more of the worst of the same. She’s the completely corrupt version of BO without the *charisma* I keep hearing he has.

I have no interest in anything the phony pollster Frank Luntz has to say.

No she called Hillary a murderer. Luntz tried to steer her away from calling Hillary a murderer however the woman won't move off Hillary is a murderer. She also called Trump a racist and a bigot and said she wouldn't vote for either candidate.

The last two hours of the convention were pure magic:
- The videos of Trump's life were amazing. They beautifully explained the huge business challenges he faced and conquered.
- Trump pulled material from his dozens of rallies, yet the material was delivered in a very fresh and powerful way.
- Trump projected sheer determination and a steely resolve to solve America's problems. Perhaps no convention acceptance speech has conveyed such determination and commitment. It knocked your socks off: This guy really means it!
- Vox Populi! H. L. Mencken was smiling down from heaven last night. He looked down and saw his dream of a truly competent and intelligent business man reluctantly and patriotically seizing the political reins. He saw a man who is not only a master builder of vast enterprises and human cooperations, but also an expert in the dark arts of the demagogue -- publicity, speechmaking, advertising, and plain talk conversation. But... and here's the big difference. While the typical politician or demagogue uses those darks arts to enrich himself or corrupt the society, here is a man with the will to do the right thing, the intelligent thing for the common good! Mencken put it this way: "The man of intelligence and self-respect may not run with the mob, but what is to prevent him from deliberately pulling its nose?"
GO TRUMP!

Hannity had some guy on, that had a focus group of about 2 dozen people. I believe they were independents. Out of them 7 said after last night they'd vote for Trump. 6 or so said never Hillary. 6 or so said never Trump. And 6 or so said neither.
When they questioned one guy, he was a Bernie supporter and was now enthusiastic about Trump.
There were 2 take aways for me.
One, Trump swung 25% of that group.
Two, no one was for Hillary.
Me personally. I LOVED it last night. I felt hope (REAL HOPE) and passion. Not just passion FROM Trump, but my own.
When I heard the Bernie supporter I was grinning from ear to ear.
After hearing a few other people last night and as I type this now, I have tears in my eyes
(250+ lbs of rough, tough construction worker)
That there might ACTUALLY be a chance to save this country that I love.
May God protect Donald Trump and family.
And may God truly bless America again.

After Hillary gives her speech, it will be compared to the Gettysburg address and she will pull ahead by 20pts in the phony polls. After Hillary gives her SCREECH, it will be compared to something Goebbels's wrote and she will pull ahead by 20pts in the phony polls.

In my circles (rural New Jersey), I know MANY people, older guys mainly, who have not voted in DECADES, who are all voting for Trump, can’t wait to vote for Trump, and have been registered and ready to vote for Trump since last summer. A buddy of mine hasn’t voted since Reagan (looking back now, can’t say I blame him.)
Anecdotal, but more evidence of what we all suspect.

CNN must be worried. This morning they were frantically bashing Trump.
I found Trump's speech powerful and effective. What a difference between FOX and CNN in covering speech yesterday. On FOX, the entire panel praised it. Giuliani said it was the best acceptance speech he has ever heard.

The panelist I’m referring to is a man. I saw the lady, too but failed to mention her. Thanks for the reminder.
Trump should get above 20% of the black vote.
Many Dems will vote for Trump and keep it to themselves.
