After a gunman killed 49 people in a terrorist attack on a gay nightclub in Orlando, a prominent conservative blogger came out as gay in Monday blog post.
Jim Hoft is the proprietor of Gateway Pundit, a stridently conservative blog best known for its anti-Islam and pro-Israel stances and its embrace of anti-Obama conspiracy theories. Hoft has long been open about his sexuality to his friends and family, but never publicly addressed the issue.
Like most gay Americans, I dont wear my sexuality on my sleeve he wrote in a blog post cross-posted to Breitbart. Ive been a conservative activist for years. But today Im coming out as a conservative gay activist.
Last night at least 49 gays were slaughtered at an Orlando club. Despite this obvious Islamic attack, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are still in denial, continued Hoft. I can no longer remain silent as my gay brothers and sisters are being slaughtered at dance clubs.
Donald Trump, he argued, was the one man who can lead this nation and protect all gays
I pray that gays will come back home to the Republican Party no more death. Dear God, please no more death.
It’s even worse now that he has come out. They will hounded him relentlessly. He’s not the right kind of gay for them. You better be all smiles and yassuh when they find out.
Also rugmunching.
Gay, straight, whatever. It’s all good until a person tries to use their situation to push an agenda and demand that their differences be accepted and/or celebrated while simultaneously demanding to be treated the same as everyone else.
If Hoft came out and is still the same guy going forward, that’s cool. If he morphs into an agenda writer he’ll most likely start losing readers.
I welcome anyone willing to fight the scourge known as Islam.
I’m very sorry to hear this, and will try to forget it. Jim Hoft has been one of the country’s most reliable conservatives for a very long time.
And as I recall, he started out working with First Things, a conservative Catholic journal, while its founder was still alive.
And it’s possible that what he means is that he has gay inclinations—which he can’t help—but refrains from putting them into practice. That’s O.K.
For multiple reasons, too bad guys like him can’t announce this news only in the Confessional
Pray
Everybody at Gateway should keep me apprised of their sexual preferences at all times
Yup. "The enemy of my enemy is my friend," as they say.
Yeah...Prove it seems to be what we should say. I’m gay...we’re all gay...make us prove were not.
If gays were to come home to the Republican party, I guarantee that homosexuality would again become known as a psychological disorder.
At first, I thought the blogger was going to be Erick Erickson
wow, I thought it was going to be that guy from Red State.
Who cares about your sex life
Yep. Folks don’t need to announce that they like same sex, gerbils, genital piercing, sock puppets, Jello games or WTHever. Just keep it to yourselves, I don’t care. At all.
Don’t care that he is gay. He blogs conservative and is a good writer with a good message.
Queer “conservative” plays his drama queen card.
Sorry, but their vote counts as much as mine, and we need all the votes we can get to keep Hillary out of the White House.
Hopefully he’s a closet gun owner too (and by that I mean he has a closet full of guns) because he may be calling down the thunder with this news.
