This is the saddest day of my life. I can't even wrap my mind around the horror of what happened last night in Orlando, where 50 joyful dancing queers were murdered by a religious extremist. I'm sad -- devastated, in my soul -- about that; but I'm also sad that the events of Orlando have shattered my political beliefs, as I can no longer swear allegiance to a peace-love-and-unicorns progressive philosophy that only helps to get my fellow queers killed.
Yes, there is a war between religious fundamentalism and the spirit of love and tolerance. But we progressives here in America still labor under the delusion that the religion we need to combat is Christianity. But that's a strawman opponent, and has been so for decades. Since the 1990s, Christian extremists have essentially lost all their power, and are now toothless nonplayers in the "culture wars." Meanwhile, Muslim extremists, with guns, murder us, and on the left our only response is to bleat about "Islamophobia" and jump through hoops trying to explain away the self-evident religious motivation for the killings...

Wedding cakes.
Is that the sound of dots being connected? Lets see, if democrats are in charge, I will die.
It would be less than helpful for normal people to associate with queers/Islamics and expect anything less than needless trouble.
/p>Just because this particular homosexual was confronted by reality does not obligate normal people to absolve/correct him unless they want to.
The homosexuals, despite their tiny composition of the population, have nevertheless succeeded in hobbling the 1st Amendment, especially freedom of association.
I don't either. Which is a shame, because gays really are in extreme danger now. But this letter is too much of a total admittance of fundamental Leftist perfidy to be believed as coming from a former true believer.
Also, there have been graphic photos of gays being murdered in every way from the ME, but only now does this guy wake up to the politics of it? I think not.
tolerance of sin is not a Christian trait. in fact, it's anti-Christian. to tolerate the behavior of others engaging in activities that put their souls in mortal danger also endangers one's own soul. God wants us to love one another. you cannot love somebody and passively watch them engage in behaviors that will condemn their souls to eternal damnation.
there is this nonsensical hippie BS about who and what Christians are supposed to be. in the past 40 years or so, Christianity has been dumbed down to become little more than walking around smiling at the world and being nice to people no matter what they are doing to themselves or others. this is NOT what Jesus taught. Jesus got angry when anger was warranted. being angry about sin is not wrong. tolerating sin is.
I need to get me one of those COEXIST Bumper Stickers with the Gun Manufacturer Logos for my Car.
It will go well with the “TRUMP 45” Vanity License Plates I just put on it.
Re-elect President Trump in 2020, and nuke em from orbit. Its the only way to be sure.
Make’m eat a ham sammich before they are allowed in.
Real thick slices of ham, or Canadian bacon.
a lot of truth to that, IMO.
I think another big and related factor is that the D party works like this: I’ll turn a blind eye to your sin, if you turn a blind eye to mine. I believe that Democrats get along with each other better than conservatives because they are willing to ignore huge faults and differences in order to get others to ignore theirs. Example: I’ll ignore your sexual perversions (gay, straight, other) if you ignore my graft and corruption. Conservatives generally point out both as being wrong. This is also why GOPe politicians look so much like Democrats. They are all riding on the same gravy train and as long as their is enough taxpayer money for them to steal, they turn a blind eye to what the other guy is doing. They all are enablers of each other.
Agree. Thanks.
They don’t want to be merely tolerated. They want the rest of us to approve of them. Sadly, approval will not fix what’s broken. In addition, they are desperate for attention. It’s all “Look at me! Look at me!” No amount of attention will ever be enough. (IMO this is true of the activists. There are plenty of non-activists who mostly want to be left alone.)
The gays are in the political quicksand of denial. They think that the Orlando massacre is just a freak incident. Rarely do they see Muslim Americans engaging in violence against them. American gays don’t worry if gays are stoned to death or have heads cut off in these theocratic countries where Sharia Law defines their justice system. These countries are a great distance from their neighborhoods where they experience violence generated by home grown homophobic idiots. They don’t understand that their denial of Muslim extremist violence has the potential to manifest itself in greater violence than they have ever experienced.
Nonetheless, it shall remain a circus tent housing a freak show! :)
At last we shrug.
So this idiot is a MAJOR part of the problem and he wants to be treated fairly for finally having seen the light? GFY, clown. You made this bed, and you can lie in it with your “partners.”
"...Not sure I believe this.
Sounds made up..."
Camels, Goats and Sheep are Islamophobic.
Pedophilia.
Didn't everyone present, including Sen. Orin Hatch, praise religious inclusion and tolerance and wasn't the unspoken yet unkind thoughts against the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob?
Didn't everyone in attendance essentially bend over and exclaim, "Allahu Akbar?"
QUEERS FOR TRUMP!!!
