The Donald & The La Raza Judge

The Donald & The La Raza Judge Pat Buchanan

Jun 07, 2016

Before the lynching of The Donald proceeds, what exactly was it he said about that Hispanic judge?

Stated succinctly, Donald Trump said U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel, who is presiding over a class-action suit against Trump University, is sticking it to him. And the judge's bias is likely rooted in the fact that he is of Mexican descent.

Can there be any defense of a statement so horrific?

Just this. First, Trump has a perfect right to be angry about the judge's rulings and to question his motives. Second, there are grounds for believing Trump is right.

On May 27, Curiel, at the request of The Washington Post, made public plaintiff accusations against Trump University -- that the whole thing was a scam. The Post, which Bob Woodward tells us has 20 reporters digging for dirt in Trump's past, had a field day.

And who is Curiel?

An appointee of President Obama, he has for years been associated with the La Raza Lawyers Association of San Diego, which supports pro-illegal immigrant organizations.

Set aside the folly of letting Clinton surrogates like the Post distract him from the message he should be delivering, what did Trump do to be smeared by a bipartisan media mob as a "racist"?

He attacked the independence of the judiciary, we are told.

But Presidents Jefferson and Jackson attacked the Supreme Court, and FDR, fed up with New Deal programs being struck down, tried to "pack the court" by raising the number of justices to 15 if necessary.

Abraham Lincoln leveled "that eminent tribunal" in his first inaugural, and once considered arresting Chief Justice Roger Taney.

"Obama himself attacked the Citizens United decision in a State of the Union address, with the justices sitting right in front of him."

"The conservative movement was propelled by attacks on the Warren Court. In the '50s and '60s, "Impeach Earl Warren!" was plastered on billboards and bumper stickers all across God's country."

Monica Crowley (love that gal) made an excellent point on Hannity. She pointed out how the left, for years, have shoved down everyone’s throat that blacks and hispanics cannot expect a fair trial when there’s a white jury.

Is this not calling all whites racist? How the left gets away with it and turns the same logic against the right, with the willing accomplices in the media, is unreal.

I wish Donald Trump had Pat Buchanan as a casual advisor. If it were a formal relationship, it would cause too much hassle for both of them.

Pat Buchanan is an excellent historian, with a special gift for articulating positions efficiently and clearly. This is a case where Trump would've fared better if he mentioned the LaRaza connection instead of the issue being Mexican descent.

Pat Buchanan would've been concise about that.

Some history: Rove and Bush both courted La Raza in order to be ‘inclusive’. You can see how GOPe is behind much of this drum-beat against Trump.

The nation’s television screens many days recently have been filled with scenes of huge crowds carrying the colorful green and red flag of Mexico viewers could well have thought it was a national holiday in Mexico City.

It was instead, downtown Los Angeles, Calif., although the scene was recreated in numerous other cities around the country with substantial Mexican populations. Hordes of Mexican expatriates, many here illegally, were protesting the very U.S. immigration laws they were violating with impunity. They found it offensive and a violation of their rights that the U.S. dared to have immigration laws to begin with.

Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa mounted the podium, but any hopes that he would quiet the crowds and defend the law were soon dashed. Villaraigosa, himself, has spent a lifetime opposing U.S. immigration law.

For law-abiding Americans without knowledge of the dark side of our current illegal immigration crisis, all this is unfathomable. For those who know the truth about the “La Raza” movement, these demonstrations were a prophecy fulfilled.

It is past time for all Americans to know what is at the root of this outrageous behavior, and the extent to which the nation is at risk because of “La Raza” — The Race.

There are many immigrant groups joined in the overall “La Raza” movement. The most prominent and mainstream organization is the National Council de La Raza — the Council of “The Race”.

Trump (and Buchanan) are right on this, even with the ‘appearance’ of pre-existing bias, if that.

Screw optics, screw ‘feel good diversity’, screw ‘reaching across the aisle’, screw all the appeasing PC crap that goes with it. Screw any quisling ‘concern’ RINOs that decry Trump’s comments. Screw Gingrich.

Judges are biased it is just a question to what degree.

Judges are biased to lawyers who are personal friends who happen to appear in “their” courtroom.

Judges are biased to their political opinions. (remember the California judge who was actually recalled because she PERSONALLY opposed the death penalty)

Judges have private judicial conferences where all these biases are discussed and they are taught how to avoid appearing biased.

How about the California activist judge who conveniently legalized homosexual based marriage in order to “marry” his “boyfriend”?

Judges have the power to recuse themselves without any notice. This judge should just recuse himself for all the reasons screaming bias. In fact this just should outright resign.

Anyone who does not believe that these Federal judges who are politically screened , vetted and selected by the partisan politicians do not show bias in their behavior and rulings have never dealt with a Federal judge. Just observe how reliable and in bloc the Justices appointed by Obama have voted and behaved on the Supreme Court. Trump’s sister is a Federal judge. He has a better insight than most.

All of this dust up just tells me how experience with partisan (openly racist) judges will positively impact the quality of his Supreme Court nominations.

Most Americans spend no time thinking about La Raza. We've barely heard of them. Now Trump has them front and center and that is tied to this judge like a ball and chain around his ankle. Every time he rules now, to save his own reputation he must be clear, state facts plainly as they appear in the record of proof before him and rule clearly on the law.

His rulings are about to be the most scrutinized rulings in the country since Judge Roberts "it's a tax" scam.

If Trump had not stated the case in terms that all of us can clearly understand this case would have been a drag on the election. Trump now has months to hone his message and get it just right - and he is the only one in the race who knows how to do it.

Of course Hillary was going to use Trump university against Trump. It was just sitting there. But Trump has now tied the issue to an incompetent judiciary (forget corrupt - the real problem is incompetence - judges do their damnedest to let cases drag on, and costs and fees mount while deciding what could have been decided in about 1/2 hour of paying attention and deciding what justice would be).

Now she can't, without dragging up all of our complaints about the judiciary, front and center, a system of which she has been a complicit part since she graduated from law school. Trump he's just another victim, a surrogate for all of us and our anger at another part of our governance that is not working at all, something in which GOPe is rushing to take credit along with the Democrats.
