The Bible: "The head of the woman is the man". PC, the spirit of anti-Christ: "rubbish"
Lover of Liberty ^ | 6/4/16 | Jim Newell

I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonors his head. But every woman that prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered. For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man. For the man is not of the woman: but the woman of the man. Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man. I Corinthians 11:3-9.

Well yeah, sin is a problem.

A lot of it has to do with men who refuse to cover their wives (protect) instead they think this verse means she is your slave and you own her.

Eph_5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

Col_3:19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.

An elder yiddishke mama once told me, that, “Yes, ‘he’ is the head of the family ... however, ‘I’ am the neck that TURNS the head!”

And now, for myself, it has been 16 years now, that my beloved and I have been ‘a team’. We each have our own abode, and each still ‘our honor’, as it were, and with THE question asked, the answer has been ‘no, it would mess up your benefits’. She is my Queen, and it is with all rights, duties, responsibilities, and devoted commitment, to be all, that as her King, I be, to my last shed drop.

The PC crowd cannot understand this, nor can they come to make such a commitment, for to them, it is an imprisonment of ‘self’. The long-engrained epitaph of “find’em, feel’em ... you know the rest (4F’s)” does nothing but create a veneer of what might be, but yet never can be. I was taught this ‘creed’ by my father, who became entrapped, once I ‘was along the way’. Many years and sorrows later, i finally discovered what it is to be ‘a Queen’s King’, and the joy of commitment and being teamed to one who has come to know the adage ‘iron sharpens iron’.

It works for us, and it sets an example for her granddaughter, who has adopted me as her grandfather.

Ooh yes... and look at how these moms typically talk about their Dindu Nuffins. Because the fellows, who should be working to restrain sin, are AWOL. And indeed there’s something unnatural about a woman having to take that role; she tends to look like a harridan when she does, even though we might cheer for her intentions. She really needs to get a hubby.

We aren’t deity — thank goodness, because if we were, we would muff it.

I know that's right.

“The point is God made man to be the head of the woman...”

As you mentioned, the rebellion against this truth is 6000 years old. I love Proverbs, and rebellious, sexually immoral women are well represented there as a threat and a vexation.

None of this innocence nonsense that is granted to women today.

Big enough of a problem to need God’s Son to go to the cross to furnish its permanent cure.

This isn’t even talking about wives, but extramarital temptations. And it could be carried on as a spiritual metaphor for the way all humanity has skipped out on God.

And they even KNOW it isn’t innocence. How often today do we take counsel in our hearts, somehow, that it is good to be bad?

My real progress didn’t begin until I was willing to embrace the fact that I was so bad, that I wasn’t even able to recognize some of it as badness. I had lost sensitivity to better things and viewed it as goodness, but it was in ignorance and folly that I did so.

This is where the mercy of Christ came to the fore, forgiving me of the seemingly unforgivable. And so like layers of an onion, the old hardened sin peels away.

The head of the women implies that he should be the example for her to look up to.
If the example doesn’t live up to the call, and the call is from God, it’s not the callers problem.

If the woman doesn’t follow the example - it’s her choice. But if the example is very compelling - daily and in real life. Why would not the earth orbit around the sun? It’s the path of least resistance.

In a healthy relationship, both are aware of sin and of God, and the woman won’t comply with sin, but will at least pro-forma honor her husband.

Maybe this is illustrated by the passage in which Nabal, the hot headed fool, refused to help the fleeing David and his men, who furiously vowed revenge, whereupon Abigail, his wise wife (whose name was adopted as a pen name in modern times by the once renowned advice columnist “Dear Abby”) offered an appeasement to David and his men. The result was peace and helping David’s mission, but Nabal blew his top and died when he learned about it.

The sun is a very furious celestial body. But by the time it reaches the earth, it can be quite pleasant and even a thing of beauty.

[[This Scripture has context, for which the application is behavior of men and women when the members of a local church are assembled for religious functions. Christian women do not owe obeisance to men in general in the secular environment, IMHO.]]

Exactly
and the only man that deserves a Christian wife is a Christian man
The verse in often taken out of context as an ownership verse where it is not , he is her covering because he is suppose to protect her .

Eph_5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
Col_3:18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.
Col_3:19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.

I try to be really careful about using the word “deserve” with respect to a sinful human (such as all are, except the sinless Son of God who chose to become a human for our sakes). We deserve God’s eternal frown. Happily, Jesus deserved something far better on our behalf.

Maybe we could say that is “suitable in God’s sight” — and serious bible students will say that a Christian single should always seek a Christian spouse — and yet there are situations where one of a pair of unbelievers comes to belief after the marriage occurs. In such a case, the believer is certainly not ordered to leave the marriage.

Who would not want to rise and follow a thing of inspiration and beauty? Sometimes, just dong a little something for someone else helps me along.

Truthfully, I fail daily. It is far easier to dwell on the truth than to practice it.

His mercy is sweet. I realized today how much He’s shown me and it enabled me to pray for my enemies and shake off enmity. Another peel fell off.

We know that God is more patient than we are, and will work out situations that we might just gnash our teeth over if it was all up to us.

Which suggests one of the horrible things about hell. There isn’t any faith in that dark place; the promise upon which it would be based has been flatly refused unto all eternity by its occupants. Who in their right mind would choose to fight a God who desires to be gracious even in the face of our sins? But some people will commit themselves to such a choice, driven by the devil.

Our common beef with things “liberal” is a result of conflating society with government. (In a look at the political, we could point out the American founder Thomas Paine who wisely protested such a conflation.) Let governments be “conservative” but may by all means societies be “liberal” beneath that sphere and on account of God. The combination will find that it works very nicely.
