We know that God is more patient than we are, and will work out situations that we might just gnash our teeth over if it was all up to us.
Which suggests one of the horrible things about hell. There isn’t any faith in that dark place; the promise upon which it would be based has been flatly refused unto all eternity by its occupants. Who in their right mind would choose to fight a God who desires to be gracious even in the face of our sins? But some people will commit themselves to such a choice, driven by the devil.
Makes no sense to choose Hell.
But then you have saved believers who, having “begun by the Spirit”, attempt to be perfected by the flesh. Now THAT is an unnecessary hell if ever there was one! Yet millions walk into into, troubled by frustraters of God’s grace. Get out from under grace and sin WILL seize the opportunity afforded by the commandment!
I’m happy salvation depends on God’s mercy and not our effort (Rom. 9:16)!
