Trump acknowledged that he had a feeling that question was going to come up and proceeded toe the liberal line of political correctness: Well, look, North Carolina did something that was very strong and they're paying a big price and there's a lot of problems....People go, they use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate. There has been so little trouble.

Fellow co-host Savannah Guthrie turned to the subject of abortion: The Republican platform, every four years, has a provision that states that the right of the unborn child shall not be infringed. And it makes no exceptions for rape, for incest, for the life of the mother. Would you want to change the Republican platform to include the exceptions that you have?
Trump agreed without hesitation: Yes, I would. Yes, I would. Absolutely. For the three exceptions. I would.
...
Later in the discussion, Guthrie asked if Trump would support a tax hike: Do you believe in raising taxes on the wealthy? Again he sounded like a Democrat: I do. I do, including myself. I do.

Strong. Decisive. Bold. In your face. What a flaccid response.
NBC did NOT push him, they just exposed his true colors.
I don’t have a problem with any of his answers and I do not like him.
Actually, a lot of those who oppose abortion are against abortion on demand and could allow for exceptions. Not all, but a lot. This isn’t quite the same kind of issue as men in the ladies’ room.
NBC did no such thing. Trump is a liberal, although too many choose to ignore that reality.
Last I looked Trump's tax plan also increases the amount of people who would pay zero tax.
Both that and an increase for the rich unfortunately makes his tax plan more "progressive".
Please Mr. Trump, do not give into the left. Your strength comes from standing up to them, not buying into political correctness. Don’t be afraid to stand up for ordinary women who do not like this nonsense at all. Please.
I could care less what the “official” platform of the GOP says. Every candidate who’s been the republican nominee in the last 40 years has had these abortion exceptions, rape, incest, life of the mother. The GOP does not practice what they preach. All are a bunch of scared pansy asses. They are scared to death the dems will label them as extreme on abortion.
He’s a New York liberal Democrat and is just being honest.
You can maintain a faux posture only so long. Eventually you return to your long held positions of comfort.
This has to be the 12th post on this today...who cares. The discussion is a waste of time there are more pressing problems other than “I want to see your papers” before you pee.
There was no need to push Trump to the left. The danger would have been getting between him and that political direction and getting trampled in his rush.
If you actually watch the interview instead of reading headlines only, it was nothing like people are describing here.
Here is the interview:

The Donald simply jumped in front of the immigration issue (with which I agree) and assumed many people would support him just for that. He was right....we now have many conservatives discarding their principles for one issue.
If Trump wasn't for the right stand on immigration, his campaign would be nowhere. He would be dismissed as a rich, liberal dilettante. Which he is.
The problem is, these positions are what Trump has believed all along. He is now beginning to let his true colors show because he thinks he has the nomination wrapped up.
By the time the election rolls around, if Trump is the nominee, you won’t be able to tell him from Hillary or Bernie.
I figured this would happen. It will accelerate dramatically once he gets the nomination.
The media says dance and you can’t wait to dance to their tune. You would think it is a Jedi mind trick or something. This is the same reason cruz never gained any traction, he is so weak minded that he thinks and does exactly what the gopE and the msm tell him to and doesn’t even know it.
Newsbusters can be downright creepy. It wasn’t Guthrie who put those words into Trump’s mouth.
Well, if bathrooms mean more to you than anything else, you know Cruz is the “bathroom safety” candidate. :)
