The picnic was supposed to celebrate the capabilities of women in a safe, women-only environment, but things didnt quite go as planned.
With the sun hanging high in the sky it seemed to be perfect weather for a picnic. But the seven proud feminist friends were in for a big surprise when none of them brought any food at all.

I must live in another world. I’m not the best cook but I am the cook. And so are most of my friends.
The guys BBQ.

Yes, but will she let you go out drinking with your buddies to all hours of the night just to come home and stand on the bed over her sleeping body and relive your self in a golden shower? Chicks dig that.

Why do brides wear white on their wedding day? To match the other kitchen appliances.
Why do women have smaller feet? So they can stand closer to the stove.

Feminists today gripe about having to pay so much for mechanics; tomorrow they’ll be complaining about how much they pay men to cook in restaurants.
The truth is that as more and more women morph into men (no child-rearing, being worked to death, paying taxes), there is little reason for most to bother learning how to prepare food for a family. I pity the guy with whom they eventually co-habitat and raise dogs...

I am like you. I can cook pretty will over a fire and have taught my son and daughter to cook on the grill. Good skill to have.

When my mother went to college back in the '30's she actually majored in "Home Economics" - courses in the likes of cooking, sewing, and finance dedicated to producing a pleasant and efficient home atmosphere. She was always proud of the food she prepared and her collection of recipes. When I was in high school in the '50's, while we boys bumbled around "Shop", the girls in the class also attended "Home Ec" classes. My spouse never had the benefit of such courses, but strangely held the old-fashioned idea that if she was going to be a wife she was going to be the best wife she could be, and pretty much taught herself to cook over the years. In our seventies now, we usually have most meals out or dine on take-outs, but she still likes to cook a couple of times a week and can whip up chicken parm or pork and sauerkraut probably better than what my mother used to do - mom's spirit will be haunting me for awhile after that comment.....
I've never understood why putting together some dry legal brief or dabbing paint on a canvas is considered that much more satisfying and fulfilling than concocting a tasty and nourishing meal. Truth is cooking can be enjoyable - Wolfgang Puck and Julia Child sure liked it anyway. It's funny to see women trying to be intelligent and progressive allowing themselves to be brainwashed into avoiding an activity involving challenge and creativity which they might find at least minimally intriguing with a bit of effort....
