Donald Trump says that if Ted Cruz 97% âcatches on, then I guess we will have to go to war.â
Appearing on CNBCâs âSquawk Boxâ on Monday, Trump told Joe Kernen that Cruz has âbeen very nice and supportive of everything Iâve said, more than anybody else.â
However, âweâll see what happens. If he catches on, then I guess we will have to go to war. But so far we havenât,â suggested Trump.
âWeâve been very supportive we have a lot of same ideas. And you know, Iâm very strong on border security and building a wall,â claimed Trump. âWe will build a wall and it be effective, believe me. My walls are effective.â
âAnd weâre going to have a border again and weâre not going to have drugs pouring across and weâre not going to have people that are illegal coming in and just walking across in front of the border patrol people who want to do something but told to stand down. But heâs been very supportive, actually.â
I don’t believe it.
Trump and Cruz get along very well. I expect to see a Trump/Cruz 2016 ticket.
This looks like a disinformation campaign by the Establishment that is in panic mode. They know they cannot stop a landslide.
I hope not. My two favorites of the bunch.
“we have a lot of same ideas”
Except that Ted is a timeless Constitutional Conservative...
Whoever wins the nomination will have to face the Hillary Machine, the Obama Administration’s army of gibsmedats, and the hostile Leftist Press. They better damn well be able to go to war and fight to win. The other side will not be civil opponents.
Of course they will. They both want to win. Have we become so self deluded to think they would just clasp hands and have a co presidency?
Everyone ultimately has to pick a candidate and back them.
RIGHT HERE HE SAYS IT

That's what I want to see. With either one on top, more likely Cruz on top. That would free up Trump to allow him to keep tabs on his business while VP. He would have his daughter and other children running his empire, but Trump would still be calling the shots. Meanwhile, Cruz as president with the two of them collaborating on tearing down all the Obama mistakes. Doing that is a tough job for one guy, let alone two.
The headline doesn’t quite match what he said.
Maybe he means join forces to go to war with the democraps and their sister group ISIS.
I think they’re both smart enough not to squabble. Unless all the rest drop out then it would be an interesting conversation. Trump needs Cruz’s support. Cruz needs Trump’s supporters.
That wall he’s talking about? Has he looked at a map? That would probably be about as long as the great wall of China and take about as long to build.
BTW, he would probably need illegals to do the building.
Cruz is a detail guy who understands how the system works, or more accurately, doesn’t work.
Trump is a big picture guy.
The two would be good together.
Trump ain’t doin’ VP. He doesn’t need to do VP. He has already said that.
An it definitely doesn’t match *how* he said it.
Don’t forget Obama and Biden were both candidates for president at the same time. Why not Trump and Cruz.
That’s a war Trump should avoid. Cruz will turn him inside out, as he has done to everyone else who has crossed him in this cycle.
If you want a conservative candidate, there’s only one choice and it’s not Democrat Don.
"Except that Ted is a timeless Constitutional Conservative...."
And, therein lies the great difference.
From Page xv of "Our Ageless Constitution," here are excerpted words from President Andrew Jackson's Proclamation of December 10, 1832:Only a candidate who understands and can articulate the ideas underlying the Constitution can help "the People" to resist future tendencies by those in government to impose their coercive power over a once-free society, all in the name of "protecting" us from foreign threats."We have received it [the Constitution] as the work of the assembled wisdom of the nation. We have trusted to it as to the sheet anchor of our safety in the stormy times of conflict with a foreign or domestic foe. We have looked to it with sacred awe as the palladium of our liberties, and with all the solemnities of religion have pledged to each other our lives and fortunes here and our hopes of happiness hereafter in its defense and support. Were we mistaken, my countrymen, in attaching this importance to the Constitution . . .? No. We were not mistaken. The letter of this great instrument is free from this radical fault. . . . No, we did not err! . . . The sages . . . have given us a practical and, as they hoped, a permanent* Constitutional compact. . . . The Constitution is still the object of our reverence, the bond of our Union, our defense in danger, the source of our prosperity in peace: it shall descend, as we have received it, uncorrupted by sophistical construction, to our posterity. . . ."
*Underlining added for emphasis
And, it was Thomas Jefferson who used another metaphor with reference to the Constitution when he indicated that "the People" must "bind them (government) by the chains of the Constitution." In another instance, he declared: "It was intended to lace them up straitly within the enumerated powers. . . ."
Trump is 69 years old. He will not want to be Prez for 8 years. Trump will never accept a number 2 position since that makes him a LOSER. . You don't become a billionaire by being second best and a LOSER.. Trumps ego will not allow him to be vice-president of anything.
This "Cruz/Trump" idea shows a lack of realistic process thinking and logic.
