The Republican Party establishment will be jumping to Ben Carsonâs defense this week. So will a few Democrats and a few media people. They would all love to see Carson as the Republican nominee because they know he would lose massively to their favorite felon Hillary Clinton. Jumping to support Carson plays right into the hands of those who want to see her as the next president.
It is all so simple.
The Democrat controlled media hates Republicans and hates Black so-called conservative Republicans even more. Such people destroy their lies and make them look like the frauds they are.
It is precisely for this reason that it is not tactically wise to rally around Carson now that he is undergoing the mediaâs anal examination that was to be expected as he began to rise up the polls.
A dispassionate review of what Carson brings to the table, his lack of substantive ideas at best, bad ideas and crazy beliefs at worst, makes him the best hope the media has of electing their favorite felon.
ââ¦.Herman Cain destroyed by outright lies made up by Chicago thugs. They killed his chances of advancing and stopping Barack Obama. That got us an empty suit named Mitt Romney who ran a halfhearted campaign and lost. America cannot survive another Democrat president.
Our future is on the line in this next election. If we choose to use our nomination as an exercise in breast beating piety and nominate Carson to prove we hate the media but not Black people, we will be making a tragic mistake.
Carson would be eviscerated by savagely bias media who will use his own words against him. They will not have to make things up.

Trumps starting point is to make a deal.
That may be OK for business where both/all sides want to get to the same place they just differ on how to get there but it’s not worth a squat if your objective is to stop the other side from achieving their objective.
Dems make an outrageous demand and Trump makes a deal with them so they only get 10% of what they want.
One example would be gun control.
Dems demand complete ban on private ownership of guns, Trump agrees to “common sense” gun control.
An example of “common sense” gun control pushed by the left, the number of guns a person can own.
While Mr. deal maker got 90%, you can still own a gun even more than one, the dems only got 10% limiting the number you can own.
A few more 10% wins like that for the dems and that number of guns you can own is down to just 1.
“I will not be tricked into supporting Carson over Trump.”
Me neither. I was never a supporter, but it is interesting to see hoards of apparently lesser-intelligent FReepers who never supported Ben before suddenly rallying around him just because the media is taking him down based on opponents secretly exposing Ben’s lies and BS.
It is indeed a sucker play to support a liar like this guy, especially one in which there are no doubt lots of other shoes getting ready to drop.
And quite frankly, it’s a good thing to see Ben taken out this early. The usual modus operandi of the Democrat-PAC media is to build up a candidate with hidden feet of clay (think Herman Caine), and then chop their knees out from under them at the very end in order to destroy the GOP. I’m delighted to see this process accelerated and the Trojan horses burned early in the game.
And I do sense that Donald’s hand is on the hidden sword that’s chopping Carson down right now. Donald’s a smart and ruthless guy, and it’s far cheaper for Trump to get the media to crucify Ben instead of paying for a bunch of negative TV ads. I mean really, no one really believes that it’s all just a big coincidence Carson is being slaughtered in the media like this just as he was supposedly rising in the polls above Trump, do we?
For me, it comes down to whether or not Carson has told the truth. I don’t care who exposed it, but the truth needs to come out. If Carson has not been honest, then that’s on him and not those who exposed it. If Carson can be proven to have been telling the truth, then it will rebound on those who were naysayers. Either way, the guy has opened himself to scrutiny by what he said and given that he’s in a presidential race, he’s got to expect that. Just attacking the mainstream media for covering the story is not going to work here, especially not when he is shown in video and in print saying things that are now open to question.
I’ve never been a Carson supporter though I had thought him a decent man, just not up to the job of being President. Now I’m having second thoughts about him on many levels. If he’s open to exaggeration or prevarication, then he’s not trustworthy.
“For me, it comes down to whether or not Carson has told the truth. I donât care who exposed it, but the truth needs to come out. If Carson has not been honest, then thatâs on him and not those who exposed it.”
Exactly.
As far as he knew at the time the official who
encouraged him regarding West Point had the power
to authorize what Carson thought (or thinks) to be a
scholarship. We can’t fairly assume Carson knew that there was any difference between the admittance process to West Point and any other higher learning
institution. What we do know about Carson is he was
a poor black kid who was bright and motivated. At
17 yrs of age the word “scholarship” was important
in his lexicon.
Yesterday, a Limbaugh caller who said he attended
West Point while Carson was a high school senior
indicated that at the time there was quite an
effort to increase the number of black cadets and
midshipmen so I could imagine an enthusiastic
pitch to Carson by significant representatives.
I think what you and other sincere people are doing
is imposing a “what Carson should have known” standard
on the issue. Since Carson apparently already knew
what he wanted to do he didn’t spend a lot of time and
effort as a seventeen year old learning the ins and outs
of gaining acceptance to WP. And, he hasn’t thought enough
about it to spend the effort to learn how the process
of entry actually works. I think he was/is complimented
he was offered an opportunity.
I think there is zero there.
I don’t know what is worse a GOPe candidate or so-called
conservatives who are thrilled when the MSM takes out
somebody with an (R) behind their name.
As stated above I just do not think Carson is the man for the job. He will get steam rolled by the GOPE.
I’m a conservative who’s delighted when RINOs like Bush, Firoina, Kascich, Graham, Christie et. al., and lying RINOs like Carson are taken out, regardless of how they are taken out. Just because the corrupt media is the tool being wielded by Trump to take out Carson, doesn’t suddenly transform Carson into being a heroic and capable Presidential candidate.
I intend to vote Cruz in the Primary; that’s the best I can do. I’ll vote for Cruz, Trump or Carson in the General Election. I absolutely will not vote for Jeb.
We’ve all seen this coming for years. We’d best be prepared to throw down when the time comes.
Regarding his belief that he’d been offered a full scholarship when he was in high school-—that might have worked had he written his autobiography shortly thereafter, but it does not work now. He was asked directly recently if he’d been offered a full scholarship, actually offered one, he had to say no. The thing is, he had to have known that when he wrote the book. He could have clarified things with a few words, but it appears that he did not.
We also learned after the stabbing story that the near victim was not a friend, but a close relative. Still no corroboration on that. What about the lock story? The baseball bat stuff?
Too many unanswered questions remain, too many retellings. Are we getting a ‘tell the truth slowly’ situation? Will we eventually learn that none of the violent stuff took place outside of his imagination?
You’re right, Jeb isn’t an option.
Sorry hood equals good
Absolutely picking fly specks out of pepper
type of stuff. It is possible he may have
NEVER learned how candidates actually gained
acceptance into West Point. Do you know that
there is a West Point preparatory institution
which is how many of their athletes get into
the academy? I know a local boy who went the
West Point Prep route as a football recruit
out of high school. He lasted about a week
before he and WP parted ways. He ended up getting
a degree from my old school, Cal Poly, and was one
of the football team captains.
As to the Carson as bad boy issue I can’t imagine
a famous surgeon claiming to be a former hood,,,,for
what? More votes? I suspect he had the story out
there before he ever decided to run and he avoids gotcha
moments by controlling the narrative.
Want to talk some Trump? Don’t think he is all
Peter Pan do you?
I actually believe what he says about West point;but that doesn’t mean anything. I just don’t want him as the Republican nominee because he would lose badly and drag down the whole ticket.
Trump would just have to ask his supporters for more support in the House and Senate and he’s get it. This is something that is very clear: Carson nominee people stay home Trump nominee people will turn out. Questions?
No, I don’t think that Trump is all Peter Pan. If the same type charges were leveled against him, I’d expect him to answer them. My standards are the same for all candidates.
Regarding your statement ‘picking fly specks out of pepper type of stuff’, expecting the truth is never that.
I would not put a lot of worry into the GOPe/MSM/DEM conspiracy thing. Its hard enough to get more than two to conspire effectively and not to mention all at the success they have been having up to date against Trump.
Ben has done a bit of stepping in the cowpies himself with this “I really was a bad kid” play and doing just a tinny bit of embellishing the West Point free ride. Apparently he was just trying to show up those that thought he was too much Gentle Ben to fight on the world stage.
principled conservative movement? We have not had a principled conservative since Reagan. That is thirty years ago.
Absolute 1st thing i thought of....I kept reading posts to see if i needed to post this obvious answer....Thanks! ;)
I thought the same thing. I think that I hey want Carson to dra the Evangelical support away from Trump and Cruz. Cruz, mostly. Wat they aren’t telling you is that Trump is still leading Carson and Cruz is still tied with Rubio.
The articles on the WSJ, totally ignore Cruz, as if he isn’t even running.
Dr Carson is far better a man than I will ever be, his accomplishments are unobtainium, his jabs at Political Correctness are historic and will resonate for decades perhaps. POTUS material? I am not sure. HHS and or Surgeon General? For sure.
My fear?
It is 2008 all over again. Carson is the Huckabee of 2016 and just like the Late Fred Thompson didn't have the energy to run etc he was the Conservative and between him leaving and Huckabee taking the Christian vote it let that RINO McCain run right up the middle.
It could happen again. The good Dr. falters, Ted Cruz does not catch fire, and we get that light weight / Chuck Schumer's Cabana Boy Marco Rubio running right up the middle and we are stuck with him as Jepito Press 2 for English mini me and a shill for the Chamber of Crony Capitalism. I can't pull the lever for Rubio, end of story.
Something has not sat right with me since he was talked about as being Romney's Veep. It hasn't left, I don't trust him, and from what I read he gets this gig or he his done, even his Fla constituents won't vote him in next time.
Just my 2 cents...
Trump and the media working hand in glove??
