Last night's GOP Presidential Debate Three (Colorado) featured several developments and suprises.

Conventional MSM Pundits and George Will will predictably conclude that John Kasisch and Mike Huckabee are headed for the political exit.

Dr. Krauthammer and George Will also may lament that "Yeb" Bush and Christ Christy will probably be "expelled" after Debate IV.



I submit that Thursday's most shocking event (from a Strategic perspective) is what many are calling the "deliberate lie" from Iowa's (currently) leading presidential candidate, Dr. Ben. Carson.

Did Dr. Ben Carson lie about not having "any associations" with the Mannatech Corporation ?

To say that this was a deliberate lie or pattern of lies is really stretching things, IMHO.

I don’t think the debate scenario was the best situation for him to sidetrack to the full disclosure you feel should have been provided.

Do you suppose that when Hillary talks about her (meaning the USA’s) relationships with foreign countries, she is fully disclosing? It seems to me that her situation is potentially much more dangerous to us and the world than what you have chosen to highlight. Just my thoughts.

We ought to know details rather than tendentiously phrased smears. FOR EXAMPLE... maybe he chose it in preference to the traditional follow up chemo... and lo and behold there were no traces left. That might be worth saying SOMETHING about. Devil and angel are both in the details.

Other than the people who may have come to harm by trusting his false claim in one of the clips that this supplement cured his prostate cancer, his blatant lying about his involvement with this company should be an issue as to his credibility.

Granted, I wouldn’t vote for him on the basis that he is possibly the least qualified least suited candidate I have ever seen run for the office of the Presidency, but I don’t like bald faced lying either.

Maybe if you actually posted some facts to support your claims, you wouldn’t get dumped on. Healthcare clinicians and scientists are requred to file annual disclosures on income received from companies. Where are those disclosures?

Did he do something illegal? Well, as a brain surgeon, he endorsed a product that damaged enough people that the company is paying out hundreds of thousands of dollars in liability claims. The company whose product he made infomercials for is still tied up in damage lawsuits for fraud. Beyond that he told a lie last night that was in the league of something HRC would come up with.

Pictures of him at a podium doesn’t prove how much income he received, if any. I’ve been a speaker at dozens of conferences sponsored by biomedical and healthcare companies and never got a dime for it. I’ve also been reimbursed for time and expenses for some conferences, but the financial relationships are publically disclosed.

Carson’s story of a personal encounter with firearms is just weird. “I have had a gun held on me when I was in a Popeyes organization,” he told an interviewer, referring to the fried chicken chain. “Guy comes in, put the gun in my ribs. I just said, ‘I believe that you want the guy behind the counter.’”

It is unclear what happened next. And it is unclear to me, frankly, that this really happened, though Carson swears it did. For one thing, Carson is a vegetarian; his campaign says he went to Popeyes for French fries. I wonder if he also goes to KFC to get coleslaw.

Disturbingly, Carson is a fan of dark conspiracies. Witness his claim that Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas, Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and Russian President Vladimir Putin got to know each other in Moscow in 1968. All of them, he claims, were at Patrice Lumumba University at the time.

PolitiFact looked into the matter and found one meager shred of evidence that Abbas might have attended the university, though no indication of when; zero evidence that Khamenei ever studied in Moscow; and the inconvenient fact that Putin was 16 at the time. PolitiFact’s verdict: “Pants on Fire!”

Is there proof that he had surgery? If so, I’d think Carson’s campaign is through. The postings I saw seemed pretty explicit that he touted this stuff as a cure.
