The poll does carry an important caveat, however: 70% of respondents said they had not settled on a choice yet. Trump’s supporters, however, are more locked in with their support.
Donald Trump is not only at or near the top of every current GOP candidate poll, but has among the most loyal base of supporters. Dr. Carson’s current standing (and I say this as a fan of Mr. Carson on a personal level) is far more similar to the “here again gone again” cycles seen during the 2012 Republican primary race that had a series of candidates becoming polling front runners only to then fade quickly into oblivion.
The media, and the Establishment Republican Machine knows this fact well – and they have no intention of actually allowing Ben Carson to win the GOP nomination. See this quote from an earlier D.C. Whispers report:

In 2012 we had RINO Romney as the fallback. So the flash of support for the pizza guy, Perry and Gingrich settled back with Romney.
This time we have Trump as the fallback. He led for too long for too long to be switched away from.
All the also rans, think they are the natural fall back, when the flash extinguishes. Cruz, Rubio, Fiorina all think that Carson’s supporters will come home to them.
No, they will come home to the guy who led consistently.
It is curious that these polls pushing Carson ahead show up just in time for the next Republican debate.
FoxNew manipulated to get Kasich as the big debate.
CNN manipulaged to get Fiorina at the big debate by adding an extra podium.
Now, neither of them are showing much political life at all.
Jebster looks like he is on his final leg. Same with Paul. Rubio similar. And a bunch at the kiddie table who most don’t even remember.
It is difficult to try to move one of them up, so it seems Carson has been tapped as the next one to try to take down Trump.

Let me remind these wishful thinkers of Mark Twain’s comment on his obituary.” The rumors of my demise are greatly exaggerated.” Trump is not leaving. Trump is winning and he gets stronger everyday notwithstanding contrived leftist media “poll” created to try to start a false narrative. I assure you that these polls were all dispelled by anyone with a brain by noon today. Simply read who they sampled.
