The U.N.'s dream of Sustainable Development is precisely a Brave New World
It was just a matter of time before Eugenics met Climate Change. Even if it sounds like science fiction and absurd speculation, the discussion is taking place now in scientific circles.
In fact, this is the ultimate application of science to the human condition. For instance, designer babies might be genetically engineered to be smaller as adults: This would proportionally reduce their carbon footprint.
Or genes might be inserted to improve night vision. That would allow nighttime lighting requirements to be reduced, thus saving boatloads of energy and reducing carbon.
Other ideas are increased body hair could keep you warm in the winter to save on heating oil and less intelligence so you wouldnt be so tempted to be greedy and over-consume earths resources. Well of course: Everyone knows that simple-minded people dont have strong materialistic aspirations.
Fartless humans....Ah...a nice quiet evening for a change
Give them all dolphin skins, so it doesn’t matter how far the oceans rise.
More hair?? Why not 100% down??
How about buying another blanket instead of more hair.
“Two heads are better than one
Khaaaaaaan!!
He’s talking about those who’ve had their brains removed. Mostly Democrats I guess.
Because nothing bad could come from this at all!
Passing Gas
A Thing of the Past
Idiots.
Just idiots.
What could possibly go wrong?
Genetically Modified Scientists Can Shovel Out the Horses**t
Ethics? Where art thou?
But NOT the Irish!
Fartless and I can't drive a car either.
Maybe we can genetically modify politicized scientists, so they can do objective science again. No? OK, can we just “fix” them so they can’t breed?
Silly goose. Wear Eskimo gear when it’s cold (avg Feb Temp North Alaska Prudhoe Bay -24) and linen when it’s hot (avg summer temp Helmand Province 105).
Simple changes with similar impacts
* accelerate natural gas use as a power source to reduce CO2 emissions OR telling everyone to huddle in the dark
* encourage marriage and multi-generation households and discourage single person households; two people in two apartments use a lot of power for HVAC and refrigeration that a combined household doesn’t.
* eat less meat
* permit more multi-use development, with housing above retail
* in the case of California and a number of other areas with monster commutes, end the high restrictions on condo towers and apartment buildings and let a lot of “wild” areas near the city get developed instead of making people commute an hour and a half each way
* permit more mother in law suites in the suburbs and adding on to existing houses when it adds occupants
* put a halt on immigration to the US for 30 years, and our population will decline, and along with it, resource use; conversely, while immigrants use fewer resources per capita than residents at first, their kids catch up quickly and the first generation has a much higher fertility rate than natives
The lunacy continues......
