This strikes me as, um, problematic, as all the kids say.
An FBI "A-team" is leading the "extremely serious" investigation into Hillary Clinton's server and the focus includes a provision of the law pertaining to "gathering, transmitting or losing defense information," an intelligence source told Fox News. The section of the Espionage Act is known as 18 US Code 793.
A separate source, who also was not authorized to speak on the record, said the FBI will further determine whether Clinton should have known, based on the quality and detail of the material, that emails passing through her server contained classified information regardless of the markings.
Now you might think that sounds bad for Grandmonster Hillary.
Nah, don't sweat it, says as progressive cretin David Ignatius at the Washington Post, a totally unbiased paper, swearsies.
The Hillary Clinton e-mail 'scandal' that isn't
Splendid! It's not a sneer without sneer quotes.
By David Ignatius Opinion writer August 27 at 8:37 PM Does Hillary Clinton have a serious legal problem because she may have transmitted classified information on her private e-mail server? After talking with a half-dozen knowledgeable lawyers, I think this "scandal" is overstated. Using the server was a self-inflicted wound by Clinton, but it's not something a prosecutor would take to court.
David Petraus disagrees.
"It's common" that people end up using unclassified systems to transmit classified information, said Jeffrey Smith, a former CIA general counsel whos now a partner at Arnold & Porter, where he often represents defendants suspected of misusing classified information.
Ah, the guy who defends people who mishandle classified information says it's no biggie.
You can read the rest if you enjoy bad writing which is dumb and partisan.
You may wonder, doesn't this deserve a flaming skull?
No. For some news, we note its import by an even more urgent signal than the flaming skull.
Some news is so enormous as to beg -- nay, demand -- a Realness Update:
(VIDEO-AT-LINK-WITH-LANGUAGE-WARNING)
That's likely nothing compared to what she and they did traveling the world to foreign leaders....
[Does anyone actually believe a Clinton will suffer the consequences of their actions?]
They will if 0 has HIS way.
You are absolutely spot on. Obviously you know how the Clintons have managed scandals in the past.
And to add insult to injury, once they’ve got off, they declare victory over the vast conspiracy that tried to go up against them.
I think you’re right, nick won’t like it.
I think you’re right about Cruz as well.
It will probably be dispensed with before that can happen and nick will turn out to be right, unfortunately.
May Justice soon find this psychopathic criminal.
When the word is out the Beast has started to lawyer up I will pay attention.
But don’t forget, Hillary says nothing was marked classified so it was OK. No, it was marked Top Secret.
Trump is the least likely to support her indictment. He is cronies with her. They have backroom deal, so there is no way he could do it, but he wouldn't want to anyway.
Hillary may be the first president to pardon herself.
I don’t think for a minute that there will ever be a real investigation because if they did, they would discover that Hillary purposefully put secret documents on her private server so that foreign governments could hack them in exchange for “donations” to the Clinton “charity”.
I doubt it. Obama may not like her, but there’s nothing in it for him to go against her.
Might be why Biden is a sudden possibility.
She just released a statement within the last week or two stating that she is in good health. My theory is that Bill will suffer a sudden "health crisis", allowing Hillary to gracefully quit the race. The media will fawn over her for "unselfishly sacrificing her dream of winning the presidency in order to care for her ailing husband."
Not only be the nominee, I will not be going out on a limb to predict she she will be the next POTUS. When the electorate re-elected (probably with the help of vote fraud, the potential for which still lurks for 2016), the Obamanation, I knew they were capable of electing the pant suit liar.
The charges are getting to the level of entering the twilight zone.
Especially when the billion dollars led by Solyndra and other two dozen green energy firms went under, the FBI swooped in to seize records, and nothing happened.
So yes, the FBI is involved. But it gives them the ability to say “we can’t talk about anything, due to pending investigation” while not doing anything more than officially investigate.
Remember that Benghazi Clinton is locking up the Democratic National Committee “super delegates” (Democratic Politburo) who can by themselves select the Democratic candidate regardless of what the mealy mouth unwashed Democratic masses say in the primaries. She will be promising the incompetent, the crooked, the thieves, the perverts, etc. positions in her crime syndicate as the reward for their votes. My guess is that she will carry it off and from Slow Joe’s recent remarks I think he (as slow as he is) got the Arkacide message that Benghazi has thrown out there a couple of times.
And...she’ll be able to keep all the money she’s raised
That will almost certainly be part of the deal, yes.
I agree that no prosecutor would take mishandling of classified information under these circumstances to court.
HOWEVER
Hillary and Bill did not create this bizarre email system in order to mishandle classified information. They created it to conceal the enormous bribery/money laundering/tax evasion operation known as the Clinton Foundation/Global Initiative.
If (and it’s a big if) the Feds are on THAT case, all three Clintons are in very serious trouble.
It would be a big PITA for a prosecutor to involve himself in a Presidential election over something most people do not understand and care less about. But if they have the server, and they can retrieve the emails documenting the details of the Clinton scheme, THEN I think you will see some action.
