In a bold move against reason, Apple has apparently removed all civil war games from their App Store over the display of the Confederate flag within the games. This is just the latest in a series of absurd moves taken by corporations following the national debate and eventual decision by South Carolina to remove the flag from the South Carolina capitol grounds.
Apple's Tim Cook Tweeted on Sunday of this week: "My thoughts are with the victim's families in SC. Let us honor their lives by eradicating racism & removing the symbols & words that feed it." Apparently he truly meant eradicated, as any game or app that features a Confederate flag has been pulled, "regardless of context"

Yeah, but MY app is a Destroy/Burn the Confederate Flag APP.
Got to have the flag to destroy it.
Chairman Tim is going to come down on the side of PC. He’s an out of the closet beneficiary.
Estimated 2 million slain in Cambodia.
Google Khmer Rouge/Pol Pot “memorabilia” on ebay
“Let us honor their lives by eradicating racism & removing the symbols & words that feed it.”
So will apples new radio app NOT play ANY rap music, since they say the n word and that is RACIST?
I Bet that iTunes will still sell rap music, will they censor anything that bashes white people?
Bet they won’t
Great, racism no longer exists. Next problem. /s
Totally ridiculous. Are they going to pretend the Civil War never happened? Well, maybe...Obama did. He avoided going to just about any of the commemorative activities, because I guess he didn’t want to call attention to the fact that hundreds of thousands of Americans died fighting to end slavery since it doesn’t go with his narrative of evil America.
I was in favor of taking the battle flag down in South Carolina because, for one thing, it had already been a source of controversy and had already been taken down from the statehouse a few years earlier. And since the killer was clearly associated with South Carolina and seemed to see the battle flag as a symbol of his crazy obsessions, it was pretty hard to defend it in that situation.
But the rest of this stuff is craziness.
I pulled Itunes off of my computer a long time ago. I want nothing to do with Apple or it’s overpriced stuff.
A phenomenally stupid - and revealing - statement!
And just how does Mr. Cook propose that the "words" be removed from our language? By burning dictionaries? Or by prohibiting speech? And even if that was done - wouldn't new epithets and slurs then quickly arise to fill their places?
Mr. Cook probably won't be satisfied until he can control our thoughts, for that is, in fact, the only place where (alleged) racism and hate can reside.
Regards,
But amazon and ebay are still selling plenty of Che Guevara merchandise, though he was a merciless mass murderer. Being a Communist murderer is A-OK, apparently. Lousy hypocrites.
Wait, don’t they in this way completely disrespect the Union army?
I hope these game developers pull all of their games from I-Tunes.
Hysteria
Inside the cover is the band standing in front of the stars & bars. Someone complained to customer service that I was selling a forbidden symbol.
I agreed that the band was standing in front of a flag, but so what? It was a southern rock group. Again, what was the TOS warning for?
I got bounced up to a supervisor who removed the warning from the account (two of these warnings in 3 months, and you're banned from selling on eBay for 3 months, three in a year, and your account is permanently gone.) The supervisor apologized, it was an incidental image, had nothing to do with terms of service, and I was more than welcome to re-list the item, with a credit for the listing that was cancelled.
I asked the obvious question: is eBay simply approving these complaints as they come in without looking at the items? And for once, I got an honest answer out of eBay: Yep, for the moment, all of them are being approved, and only if the seller calls in is it being actually reviewed for context.
I'm sure that the same is happening in the iTunes store; interns were sent to go find anything that might have the stars & bars on it, drop the app, send the violation notice, and wait for the developer to appeal to actually look at the issue in context.
Because there are so many alternative app stores for Apple products for them to distribute their IOS apps, they can easily take their apps to these alternative sites and sell them there...
Oh, right, Apple has a monopoly and is the sole gatekeeper to locked devices.
But they kept all the Nazi games available to download
Apple news ping.
Then they should remove ask references to the Democrat party.
Nazi flags however are OK
