Our sweet big kitty just died peacefully in her sleep after a very short decline. We believe her heart just gave out.
There is a big Patches shaped hole in our hearts just at the moment.
I’m 69 years old. I have been blessed with wonderful kitties since I was two years old. I understand your loss, and your grief. Get a kitten.
So very sorry for you. We still grieve for our Duchess, Homer, Noodles, and Duke. It hurts less over time, but the hurt never goes away.
A book that helped us through is “Cold Noses At The Pearly Gates”. Probably any/all of Gary Kurz’ books would be good to read now.
Chef:
Patches resembles my current “scooped up from feral kitty”.
Sorry man.
I lost my 16YO calico “Mittens” in 2010 and promised myself to not have another, yet, here I am today with “Tabitha”.
Keep cooking! It’s good therapy.
Prayers up for you and your kitty.
Ah, so sorry for your loss. But always remember the great life and love you and your friend shared. Prayers for you.
Condolences on your loss!
huge loss. It is a sad. We will face one soon in our house too. Press on. Remember the good times.
I’m sorry for your loss. I know how much it hurts.
We put our little fuzzy pants(cat) down a week ago. It’s quite amazing how deeply they can wind themselves into your heart. Condolences to you.
ours is seven years old. It must be a hard time right now. My condolences.
My deepest sympathies to you. Try to remember the good times.
Lord have mercy, I am so sorry.
She’ll be waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge!
What a nice-looking cat.
God created cats so we would know what it’s like to stroke the tiger.
I’m sorry to hear about your sweet kitty. She looks just like ours, even has the orange on one side of her face. She is 17, so we expect to lose her very soon. I know how they can take over your heart and your affections. Patches is a lucky kitty to have been so loved :)
Lost our fluffy white furball after 19 1/2 years a while back. Doc told us at 12 he only had 6 month to live, and he turned out to be an active cat, almost to the end.
So sorry for your loss. We still grieve for our sweet Reina, who we lost 10 years ago. We now have Miles and Shelly, because we can’t imagine a home without the love of a cat.
You have all of my sympathy. Our big orange cat was hit by a car a couple of months ago, and it took weeks to stop listening for him to meow to be let in. Everyone in the family randomly teared up for weeks.
We have a new 8 week old kitten now :)
I hope your heart eases soon.
