This post is in follow up to "ken5050" posting about "what kind of coffee maker do you use?"

Posted on ‎4‎/‎14‎/‎2015‎ ‎1‎:‎23‎:‎50‎ ‎PM by ken5050

I started saving my grounds as a compost for my herb garden. I'm not sure if it will over power them or be balanced. So I googled the topic and not surprisingly someone else has already thought about it.

Please check out the following and share what you do with them.

My kcups go in the garbage can...

The city can compost them after the plastic cup the grounds are in biodegrades after 10,000 years...

Yeah. My great grandmother always composted her coffee grounds.

I think in Russia they use them in concrete.

They work better than baking soda in the fridge, they are even effective in the freezer assuming one has any strange odors in the freezer.

I feed it to my worms and compost the rest.

We take ours and put them in a large plastic bag, along with other elements of civilization, and place them at the curb each week.

From there they are carried to a large sealed repository for future generations to study.

Aluminum cans are often included as a reward.

I stuff them in my ears whenever Obama or Hillary is speaking. Dark roast is densest & works best.

We put them in the compost with the vegetable matter.

Coffee grounds (and filters) get tossed into the compost piles.
We have two 4 X 4 X 4 chicken-wire enclosures in the way-back.
Coffee grinds, kitchen waste (no meats, dairy, or oils), ground-up leaves, wood stove ash, etc. - shovel-full of lime and stir bi-monthly with a pitch fork.

Use some of them in Brisket smoking marinade and BarBQ sauce.
