We take ours and put them in a large plastic bag, along with other elements of civilization, and place them at the curb each week.
From there they are carried to a large sealed repository for future generations to study.
Aluminum cans are often included as a reward.

I stuff them in my ears whenever Obama or Hillary is speaking. Dark roast is densest & works best.

Coffee grounds (and filters) get tossed into the compost piles.
We have two 4 X 4 X 4 chicken-wire enclosures in the way-back.
Coffee grinds, kitchen waste (no meats, dairy, or oils), ground-up leaves, wood stove ash, etc. - shovel-full of lime and stir bi-monthly with a pitch fork.

When I used to supply a bait shop with night crawlers and red worms, I dumped the grounds into a base of regular soil. They grew so good I actually had bait shops contracting with me for weekly orders.

You might need to add granulated limestone if the soil gets sour. Powdered limestone or processed lime can cause problems with soil aeration and composition.

I am transplanting my beefsteak tomatoes today. I grow them in plastic 5 gallon buckets. Here is a pic of some of them from last year:
When I fill the buckets the top 1/4 gets mixed into the soil 1 cup of used coffee grounds 1/4 cup crushed egg shells and 1/4 cup Epsom salts.
The rest of my coffee grounds go in my composting worm bin.
