GOP presidential hopeful Ben Carson reportedly slammed lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights advocates at a Jan. 24 press conference following his speech at Congressman Steve King's Iowa Freedom Summit.
Carson, a Fox News commentator and former Johns Hopkins University pediatric neurosurgeon, seemed to hint at a series of disputes that have erupted between same-sex couples hoping to tie the knot and bakeries and other wedding-related venues operated by opponents of same-sex marriage.
"What I have a problem with is when people try to force people to act against their beliefs because they say, 'Theyre discriminating against me," he told reporters, according to The Hill. "So they can go right down the street and buy a cake, but no, lets bring a suit against this person because I want them to make my cake even though they dont believe in it."
He then added, "[That] is really not all that smart because they might put poison in that cake.(continued)

It depends on the source, of course. The pure white ones are a little more expensive. Then there is "marble" that is a strange mix of the two. I wonder how the made that?
If you are going to be a prominent pediatric neurosurgeon, you can say whatever you damn well please. If you are going to be a Republican candidate for president, you have to measure every word carefully. Ben Carson is a good guy, but I don't think he has made the transition.
Yeah. And Jesse Jackson might hock a lewgee on your burger while he’s waiting on your table...
Yeah. It’s bad enough when they do have government experience.
Carson is nowhere near a “fruit loop.”
Someone can be ill-versed in political claptrap and still be a brilliant human being, as he is.
I just hope he realizes that, before he does irreversible damage to his reputation.
Correct. In the age of eat a peanut butter sandwich in the shape that looks some what like a gun you are expelled from school you really have to filter your thoughts.
Freepers enforce the desired silencing of conservatism via the use of gotcha journalism each time a conservative speaks.
Yeah, I was there and forced the doctor to make those inane comments. I’m like a god-ling in that way.
Ben is not ready for prime time.
Tonight on Meghn’s program Dr. Carson clarified his remarks. Saying that use of the word ‘poison’ was probably not the best choice. Then he quoted the famous saying that conveys the same meaning that he meant.....that is: don’t make your waiter angry with you, after all he will be alone and out of your sight for a few minutes with your food.
The man is brilliant. And extremely humble and God-fearing, and self-effacing. Man of honor.
I have personal experience (technically 2nd hand) with this man. He is kind and thoughtful and not at all full of himself. My mother is a huge fan, just because of her personal experience with him. My nephew is the recipient of his brilliance, skill and kindness.
I am not sure Dr. Carson is the very best candidate, but damn sure I would turn out for him if he is the candidate. No question.
Ha! Great image.
More huffinpuff BS.
To be fair.... how bad is this idea?
What we need is a conservative MMA expert, Mister Rogers doesn’t have a chance.
BS, we’ve been pandering for over a decade with candidates who ran every word by the MSM. Time to ignore the media!
What's the difference between his "correction" and the original? The idea is that the waiter is going to do something to the food to make it unfit for consumption.
He could have talked about the cases in which homosexual bakers refused to bake cakes that had anti-gay marriage inscriptions. He could have said that he opposed use of public accommodations laws to force Christians out of business for acting according to their beliefs. There were some good points to be made here. Did he make them?
Would you call Ronald Reagan “MMA”?
Carson is very kind, but still is not afraid to speak Truth, as any true faithful person would not be.
“homosexual bakers refused to bake cakes that had anti-gay marriage inscriptions”
Wait - there were some fools actually wasting energy and time planning party cakes with anti-homo salutations?
