Posted on 01/23/2015 4:51:03 PM PST by Ray76
The Delphi Technique and consensus building are both founded in the same principle - the Hegelian dialectic of thesis, antithesis, and synthesis, with synthesis becoming the new thesis.
In group settings, the Delphi Technique is an unethical method of achieving consensus on controversial topics. It requires well-trained professionals, known as "facilitators" or "change agents," who deliberately escalate tension among group members, pitting one faction against another to make a preordained viewpoint appear "sensible," while making opposing views appear ridiculous.
The facilitators or change agents encourage each person in a group to express concerns about the programs, projects, or policies in question. They listen attentively, elicit input from group members, form "task forces," urge participants to make lists, and in going through these motions, learn about each member of a group. They are trained to identify the "leaders," the "loud mouths," the "weak or non-committal members," and those who are apt to change sides frequently during an argument.
Suddenly, the amiable facilitators become professional agitators and "devil's advocates." Using the "divide and conquer" principle, they manipulate one opinion against another, making those who are out of step appear "ridiculous, unknowledgeable, inarticulate, or dogmatic." They attempt to anger certain participants, thereby accelerating tensions. The facilitators are well trained in psychological manipulation. They are able to predict the reactions of each member in a group. Individuals in opposition to the desired policy or program will be shut out.

The very technique used in the Agenda 21 power grabs.
hegelian dialectic + delphi technique == where we are today
Liberals are very skilled at this. Great for you to post this so we are aware of when at a meeting or some other gathering when this is being used so we recognize it. The next step is for us to know how to use it to fight back against them.

That is addressed in the article.
Well, I’m a birther, so I’m already a kook.
I’ve been Delphid by the best. Multiple times. F’em.
We have a few practitioners here on FR.
HOW COLLECTIVISTS USE THE DIAMOND TACTIC TO SWAY PUBLIC MEETINGS AND HOW TO THWART THEM
Me too. That’s why it is so important to have conviction.
think for one’s self throws ‘em into a tizzy every time.
Yup. We’ll be seeing a lot of them in coming months declaring which progressive republicans “can win” and why conservative candidates can’t.
There only one antidote to this operation of evil:
Uncompromising eternal truth and principle.
That destroys them when exercised, every single time.
They either have to flee or kill you. They’re left with no other choices.
Coming days... the race is already on :( :)
True enough, they’re already showing up.
To begin with, a procedure known as Delphi was developed at Rand Corporation back in the 1960s. It was intended as a means for extracting opinions from a panel of experts, without bringing them together. The original Delphi report from Rand presented a number of forecasts of technology, leaving some people with the mistaken view that Delphi was only a technology forecasting technique. Not so. Its uses are much broader.
The original Rand Delphi was operated as follows:
At no point was any trickery or coercion applied to the panel members. They were free to respond as they wished.
Over the years I ran many Delphi sequences to generate forecasts of technology. I found Delphi to be a very useful technique for getting experts to give their opinions and their reasons for them.
Unfortunately, some people weren't content to leave well enough alone. They started using the trickery described in the article, called it Delphi, and called upon the reputation of the Rand Corporation to sell their trickery.
When you hear of someone using something called Delphi, find out whether it's the real thing (as I outlined above), or whether it's one of the fake methods that are intended to force a preferred outcome. If the latter, have nothing to do with it. If you're forced into it, point out the fakery.
need to be aware of this.
