Since Harry didn't "stick the landing" in a running wood chipper, dreams and wishes seem an unlikely cause.
If that injury was truly caused by a commercially available piece of exercise equipment, he’d be negotiating a muli-million dollar settlement from the manufacturer by now. Yet no product safety advisories or recalls have been issued. Curious.

Obviously I too don’t know what REALLY happened, but I do know, at least in Texas, that if I brought in one of my kids to the ER and told that story, it would be MONTHS (at least) before CPS would let me see him again.
...in fact, for something like that, I’d probably let the wounds heal as best they can, move to another state, and then, later, get him plastic surgery. He’d still be happier in the end than having to deal with the foster care system.

We patched her up, nothing serious, but when we were at the grocery store with her sitting in the kids seat in the shopping cart, we got very mean looks; this was in '92.
Just kept her at home until all was healed.

Somewhat similar here - wife got a bit too mad at the kid (2 years old), caused a dislocation - kid was in extreme pain for couple of hours. At the time we didn’t know what it was, just that he was screaming. Had it gone on a bit longer, I would have driven out of town and had her take the kid in (better chance of keeping him if there’s no abusive dad around). Thankfully it fixed itself, or seemed to. Then it happened a second time as we played (obviously weakened from the first time). Again we waited it out. Then it happened a third time - but this time in school - so we RUSHED him to a doctor, who immobilized it and let it heal properly. Having happened in school meant that we could get it treated without risk of losing him.
Sad that kids have to go through so much suffering just to keep their parents - but I as said a week ago, I don’t set the rules, but I WILL respond to them...and I did.
In the end it was for the best. If CPS had taken him, there’s a good chance my wife would either be dead or doing time - there was NO WAY she would have quietly sat back and patiently waited. Thankfully it never came to that.
I believe there are people in the shadows who wield the real power. Even the UN does their bidding.
As for Reid, boner, Obama, Pelosi, all of them, I have zero sympathy for them and will not mourn their passing. They wouldn’t mourn mine. They’re cold evil people. I’m just as cold toward them. The difference is I won’t hurt people. I’ll just smile when they get hurt.
