Grass roots movements like the Tea Party have made progress.

But since individually we're human too, we tend to split into self-interest factions which seems to divide rather than unite us.

If you need proof, just look at the lively debates here on Free Republic regarding 2016 GOP Presidential candidates.

But debate is necessary and healthy, I just hope we can come to a consensus, as the 2016 election cycle looms.

We need to go on the offensive online in a big way, and start exerting major influence on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Reddit and YouTube. The places where the left formulates most of their talking points and positions, and communicates them quickly to others.

Also, we need a bigger presence on their favorite news sites in the comment section. HuffPo, Daily Kos and other should have an army of us there commenting on those stories.

Don’t give these people a safe place where they can funnel their BS without comment. It’s a simple and effective long-term effort that will pay off in a big way by 2016.

The beauty of the TP is that it needs next to zero dollars to achieve its goals. TP people do not get their info from TV ads. They inform themselves, then they either vote or not.

So however much twang the TP generates over the NBC/CBS/CNN media cesspool matters not one bit. Those guys can all rot in hell as far as I’m concerned, and yes, I DID vow to be nicer in 2015.

If we aren’t careful the media will choose our nominee. We need to get fully behind the most conservative candidate as early and as loudly as possible.

Open air Tea Party rallies and protests is where the TP gained its power and momentum, and most suddenly they began working a behind the scenes low profile program and it ain’t working so well, there is no need to be intimidated by the MSM, Dems, and Rino’s there assaults just serve to strengthen and grow the TP, time to hit the streets again; some one said if you build it they will come.

From Braveheart:

"Fight and you may die. Run and you will live at least awhile. And dying in your bed many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance, to come back here as young men and tell our enemies that they may take our lives but they will never take our freedom!"

To paraphrase for squishy moderates"
And dying in your bed many years from now, would you be proud to tell your grand children that you had a chance to keep them free, that you could have called your representatives or sent a fax, but DID NOT?

Will you feel no shame in telling future generations that when the time came to act you sat silent and sold their freedom?

Unfortunately, debate about one candidate is being squelched on FR.

The TEA Party needs to "come alive?"

What the hell do they think happened last November? As opposed to "coming alive," The TEA Party flexed its apparently vein-bulged muscles and let loose a roar that even the most self-blinded Obama toe-sucker couldn't ignore.

Many well-intended people still mischaracterize and misunderstand just who The TEA Party really is. We are the vast majority of the American voting public who work each day, pay our taxes, cling to our guns, pray to Jesus and love this Nation created in His image.

We are quite alive, quite well, quite busy and demonstrably the single-most-powerful and productive voting bloc in American political history.

And we ain't going nowhere.

It would be nice if we could unanimously agree on a plan A candidate, a plan B candidate, and a plan C candidate. We all want plan A to pan out but Mitt and Jeb and Chris and the MSM are going to attack the hell out of that plan. We can’t get so hung up on plan A that we can’t fall back on plan B should it fail.

Moreover, rarely do more than 30% of Americans identify as being Republican.

More people identify as belonging to the TEA Party than identity as Republican?! yet the GOPe treats us worse than red-headed stepchildren?! It doesn't make sense....unless the GOPe and RATS are one and the same...

So true. In 2012, one TP faction supported the Huckster. One faction supported Santorum and so on.
We were divided on who to support.

As a result, Romney slipped by.
That must change. We must unite behind one and only one.
We must find a way to make that work.

Maybe what we need is a Tea Party Contract with America. Set out the principles & then find the candidate.

I also like Trevor Loudon’s suggestion to run as a team this time. Get people like Scott Walker, Ted Cruz, Rick Perry, etc., & ask each to put ego aside, put the best person in a slot in a Tea Party Administration & run together. That would make the Libs & the GOP-e’s heads explode.

The Tea Party Movement was sparked mainly by tax and economic issues. Tax season is coming soon.

Remember this WHEN YOU DO YOUR TAXES IN APRIL) !

In case you didn’t notice or were not paying attention, here is what happened on January 1, 2014:

Top Medicare tax went from 1.45% to 2.35%, an increase of 62%.

Top Income tax bracket went from 35% to 39.6%, an increase of 13%.

Top Income payroll tax went from 37.4% to 52.2%, an increase of 52%.

Capital Gains tax went from 15% to 28% an increase of 87%.

Dividends tax went from 15% to 39.6%, an increase of 164%.

Estate tax went from 0% to 55%, an increase of infinity . . .

Remember this fact: These taxes were all passed with only Democrat votes. No Republicans voted for these taxes.

These taxes were all passed under the Affordable Care Act, aka OBAMACARE.

If you think it is important that everyone in the U. S. should know this, pass it on.

Thank you for referencing that article PROCON. Please bear in mind that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

The reason that Tea Party (TP) patriots are unorganized, imo, is just like most other citizens, they have probably never been taught about the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers.

Consequently, TP patriots fall into the trap of defining conservativism as limited government spending, oblivious to the Supreme Court’s clarification that Congress cannot appropriate revenues for anything that it cannot justify under its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers.

“Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States.” —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

Again, the Constitution defines no federal taxing and spending as opposed the popular misconception of limited spending.

Sadly, Section 8 and excerpts from Supreme Court case opinions clarifying limits on Section 8 take up about two pages which the corrupt media is not about to get low-information voters, including TP patriots, up to speed on.

First the Tea Party needs to declare what it is and isn’t. Then ignore those who try to hijack it to suit their own specific agenda.

The TEA in Tea Party is Taxed Enough Already. Strictly Fiscal is my take. Not religeous, not 2A, not abortion, etc. Not that those issues are not worthy in their own rights, just Not Tea.

By focusing narrowly on fed fiscal issues and limits it will attract the broadest support. And that scares the crap out of Kstreet and their puppets.

i’m with you on this & bet on the fact that dems & other of their ilk will try to tear down Ted Cruz if he runs in 2016.
i’m pretty sure Ted Cruz will be able to uphold most if not all of teaparty principles w/o actually endorsing the tea party ‘cause imho if he did endorse 100% it would not enhance his campaign if in fact he actually campaigns.

From the bottom of my heart I am and have been praying Ted will throw his hat in the ring & win. He will set this country straight.

One other very important thing:
I read when Mitch McConnell was re-elected ( to whatever he does)that one of McConnell goals was going to “isolate” Cruz in public forum, etc...to muffle him , to render him impotent, and i.e., to essentially de-ball him, essentially making him look bad in the court of public & private opinion.

Don’t let McConnell do this & he will thru the media.

Pray for a leader with integrity to lead our country out of this huge mess we are in

Cruz2016!
