‘Stepped right into that propeller': Sen. Mary Landrieu’s #WhereWasBill tweet backfires

As Twitchy reported yesterday, Louisiana Sen. Mary Landrieu, facing a runoff election Dec. 6, has resumed campaigning on Twitter, although her #WhereWasBill tweet racked up only one favorite and zero retweets in its first four hours online. (Nearly 24 hours later, it’s up to three retweets and two favorites.)

Landrieu’s resurrected Twitter campaign has finally caught someone’s attention, although that person is her opponent, Rep. Bill Cassidy, who was happy to answer where he was during Hurricane Katrina. Check out the favorites and retweets on this one.

I wonder how much taxpayer money she spent on making those signs.

That is funny! Good for Bill, and shame on Landrieu. We already know she’s useless, but even an idiot knows you never ask a question you don’t already know the answer to.

FAIL

She is in free fall, and we can see why the rats/National Dems are cutting some of their ad funding to her.

National Dems cut ad buys for Landrieu

National Democrats are canceling a portion of their planned advertising buy in Louisiana for Sen. Mary Landrieu (D) runoff battle with Rep. Bill Cassidy (R ).

A Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee aide confirmed the committee canceled buys starting Monday and running through Dec. 6, the date of the runoff, in the Lafayette, Baton Rouge and New Orleans markets. It’s unclear how much of the committee’s initial $2 million-plus reservation remains.

The move underscores, and likely exacerbates, her underdog status in the race. But with Senate control no longer up for grabs, after Republicans gained a 52-seat majority in Tuesday night’s elections, Landrieu’s reelection fight has lost some of its urgency for Democrats. A handful of Republican groups, meanwhile, have already reserved at least $7 million in airtime over the next month.

DSCC spokesman Justin Barasky said the development doesn’t mean the committee is writing the incumbent off.

“Mary Landrieu is a proven run-off winner and we support her 100 percent. We are going to make ongoing determinations on how best to invest in the race. We made the initial reservation when there were concerns that the rates would skyrocket but they have stabilized, giving us more flexibility to make week-to-week decisions,” he said.

Every recent public poll has shown Landrieu trailing Cassidy in a head-to-head matchup.

Get The Hildabeast & Miss Piggy in some photo ops. Ya know that won’t happen. This is now the way the war on women really exists with dems. Gawd! I love the smell of burnt bacon in the morning.

Even the Dems realize she is going to lose this one.

They poured $10s of millions into NC and lost that. They see the writing on the wall regarding LA.

How did LA have 2 Republicans in the election anyway?

Small wonder democrat orgs have pulled all funding for her runoff against the senator to-be Cassidy.

Too bad somebody in the audience didn’t have the answer up front; I would have loved to see how she handled that.

I ventured over there and didn’t see the question about Katrina. Either I missed it or it was removed?

Unlike so many of her colleagues, Sen.Landrieu is not a lawyer and this is an excellent example of her failings. The first rule in examining a witness is to know the answer before you ask the question so that the results bolsters your case, not weaken it! Since her father and brother are lawyers, she probably should have asked their advice but that wouldn’t have been an independent woman, would it?

It does look like that website has been modified.

Now, the ‘where was Bill’ is regarding ‘Congressman’ Cassidy voting against the funding for disaster relief after Hurricane Isaac.

Reminds me of the infamous Ted Kennedy “Where was George?” speech. It went right down the memory hole after some Republican answered “Dry, sober, and home with his wife”.
