An administrative law judge has ruled that a Kentucky printers refusal to print gay pride t-shirts constitutes unlawful discrimination, and, by extension, that printers cannot refuse to print materials promoting ideas they disagree with.
Hands On Originals is a business that prints custom designs on clothes, accessories and other items like mugs and bottles. According to the ruling, Blaine Adamson, its managing owner, instructed his sales representatives to decline to design, print, or produce orders whenever the requested material was perceived to promote an event or organization that conveys messages that are considered by the sales representative or Mr. Adamson to be inappropriate or inconsistent with Christian beliefs.
Don Lowe, board member of the Gay and Lesbian Services Organization, contacted three different printing companies in February 2012 about t-shirts for an upcoming gay pride festival, including Hands On Originals. A HOO sales representative approved the design without consulting Adamson, and Adamson didnt see the design until weeks later, when Lowe called Adamson asking how to pay the deposit and attempting to negotiate a lower price....

Since when can judges become dictators? They should be the first ones locked up when The Great Push-Back begins.
The GOP invented the idea of the “public accommodation”, which shows that the GOP can be every bit as statist as the Dems.
The GOP “invented” your state can’t leave the Union, your property is forfeit, centralized government, the military draft, the income tax and many other evil things.
Unfortunately the printers representative had already made a contract with the group to make the shirts..
it wasn’t as if the group had been refused at the start..
there was a contract to make shirts..
The STATE OWNS YOUR BUSINESS comrade.
Just say no. Refuse. You are onlyca victim if you cooperate.
Ooh! A contract was involved, so they had already committed to do the shirts. Too bad, so sad.
Sounds like a good ruling to ignore.
But what if the shirt was for a KKK celebration? If the subject of the contract was considered “racist” would it be okay to cancel the contract? Or if the request was for shirts with the Confederate flag?
If the salesman was a supporter of the confederate flag, but the owner was opposed, would the owner be forced to later make the shirt...even if he were Black?
This judge is an evil thug, and the gays who demand obedience are thugs. I hope all decent people will shun everyone involved in this abuse of government’s excessive power over individuals.
Ya but then you must be prepared for the SWAT stooges to smash the front door in along with all the attendant mayhem. Perhaps the boot lickers will explain why this is a good thing. If you cant govern by consent then its OK to govern at the point of a gun. Thats where we are today....and its a government of our own making.
Liberals believe in slavery.
About time to let Woody Harrelson’s dad out of prison.
See there?
Freedom means bowing your knee to homosexuality.
I think it’s time to start going after these Human Rights Commissions as being unconstitutional. Just because a community decides to give power to one of these commissions to dictate behavior, they do not have the power to throw out your Constitutional rights.
Freedom of association is long gone. But I wonder if we could turn it around and demand a muslum printer, if there are any, print pro-Jewish material? Or if we can find a homosexual printer and make him print a “homosexuality is a sin” type shirt. That however would probably be considered “hate speech”.
I am still waiting for the first case of a church being forced to conduct a homosexual wedding. It is bound to happen.
What happens if I find a black printer and demand he print KKK pride t shirts?
Not that anyone would eat it.....but would a Muslim baker be forced to decorate a cake with Jesus Is Lord, Mohammed is a fraud?
If businesses like this would only give a “date after” such events - that would preclude them ever having to do business with people they don’t want to...
Give them a date beyond the event. Simple!
No court can tell a business how busy they are and what their production should be at certain times - that’s outside the court and would never even garner a complaint in the first place.
Tell the customer they are beyond their capacity to produce and that the order will be done after marked date - stop telling them the truth! They want to play nasty - business owners need to do the same!
