Im not normally one to write a blog post about a dead celebrity, but then I suppose there is no such thing.
There are only living celebrities, not dead ones. In death, wealth and prestige decay and we are brought into a new reality, the only reality there is or ever was one which, for much better or much worse, doesnt care at all about our popularity or our money.
The death of Robin Williams is significant not because he was famous, but because he was human, and not just because he left this world, but particularly because he apparently chose to leave it.
Suicide.

Perhaps a solder throwing himself on a grenade or placing himself in the enemy’s line of fire so that others might live....
Is burning in Hell too.
Geez! What is with these people?
Oh, last night one person was almost dancing with glee at the prospect....and condemning everyone else for not being good Christians.
Robin Williams Uncomfortably Numb: Abortion Loss and Addiction
Although this man is a Christian, I hope he gets a dose of karma.
A little bit of experience is a great teacher.
Sure...praying will get your chemistry in order. Yup. That’s the ticket. Perhaps some snake handling, chanting, speaking in tongues....all of that will work.
Or you could use the big busted blondes the evangelists are so fond of. Actually, risky behavior like that is a key sign of depression.
Sure suicide seems like “quitting” to a lot of folks. But those folks think if you pray hard you can convert a homo too.
The beauty of the Internet is that for 14.95 a year, you can put up a blog and call three legged dogs, pigs.
You know, I could understand some hate towards Robin Williams. After all, he was a liberal.
But to proclaim that God will damn even Christians to Hell if their illnesses overcome them is not just ungodly and irreligous.
Its sick.
I don’t have much sympathy for filthy rich celebrities that take their own lives, especially lefists like Williams who loved to make fun and put down Christians as part of his “comedy” routine.
I hope he is in a better place, but based on faith, The Word says otherwise.
Wow. People on this thread have not read the article, and yet they are commenting.
If people would actually read the entire article, they wouldn’t be so angry toward the author.
And nor do you have sympathy for some sick Christian who nobody knows and nobody loves; and who kills themself in lonely desperation.
May they rot in Hell, right?
So, the devil made him do it?
Really?
>Who is this Matt Walsh<
He’s a pretty conservative preacher with a Facebook page. Champions traditional marriage, among other things.
Oh, I’ll admit that Robin Williams wasn’t a hero of mine, not by a long shot. I’m under no illusions about his leftism. But he wasn’t Adolf Hitler. He did care a lot about our troops...and I myself have laughed like a loon at his comedy.
I’m praying the man cried out to God and was saved. I hope others are praying for that same thing.
A thank you would have sufficed, especially in light of simple sympathy/empathy.
You just never know what fellow FReepers can speak to in light of our own lives and families’ lives.
I, for one, have a suicide in my family, for example, within the last 18 months. Active duty, too. Tragic. Infuriating. Affected many.
My apologies for having offended you. It was not intended, nor was any condescension. Truly.
Down syndrome is a disorder. So are hemophilia and schizophrenia.
Some are genetic. Some are mental. But none of these, including major depressive disorder and bi-polar, can be repaired through God. Some can’t be repaired at all.
Not arguing... stating a known fact which often is overlooked in cases as Williams...just as media is attempting to make him out as not responsible for his decisions...and their were many decisions he made before the one to take his life.
Yes. Possession is real.
