Yes, number 4 is key.
The list reminds me of the list spelled out in the “Communist Manifesto” of the things that need to be accomplished in order for the United States to fall to communism. Most of them have been done. Dear God.
Seems to Me something to do with “if da’ glove don’t fit you must acquit” was daddy.
I do know I am sick of hearing about them.
My problem is with those who blame a poster for a authors error! I generally post articles that I believe would be of interest and promote intelligent discussion, but that does not make me the author or the editor. Since the link to the original article is part of the post you would think that these diligent and dedicated ‘English Police’ would take the time to writing author over their complaints, but then that would require extra effort on their part wouldn’t it. So maybe the ‘English Police’ aren’t so immune to the sin of laziness as they like to think they are?
Exactly my thought. This list IS the Communist Manifesto. All these items appear there as well.
Thanks for the confirmation, BSR, *sigh*
Despite my sorrow and concerns for our present situation, I have not given up on America. I believe that our God is greater, and that there is at least a small percentage that remain devoted to Him.
As Abraham secured that promise that God not destroy the city for the sake of the 10 righteous men, I believe that we DO have that “10 righteous” for whom God will “save the city”....but there might be a big separation of the sheep from the goats in the process of that saving.
I think that Joshua’s admonition to come apart and be a separate people is appropriate here. We should get out of the way of the sorting process so the Babylonian civilization will not fall directly on us - spiritually as well as physically. His just wrath is reserved for the wicked and not for His own...unless we attach ourselves to the trappings of the wicked.
Just my belief. Others are entitled to theirs.
I agree God is greater, but he is not going bless those who hate him and there are far more that hate him than love him in this country.
I know that they (the ones who have fallen away) are greater in number. That is why I cling with hope to the promise granted to Abraham referred to above. I truly believe that there is a remnant of our mighty people who remain faithful, even though we do not see evidence of it in the media.
Remember the proportionally small numbers who got the original American Revolution done. Just food for thought.
But it will unfold they way our Lord and our Father want it to unfold, and I seek to bow always to His Will.
Thanks for posting this. I’m sure there are lots of people like myself who read the prepper pings religiously - but I don’t often comment so keep ‘em coming! Always good information there.
And I shared this with Mr. OG this morning, we were talking just last night how this country is going to hell primarily because we are losing all the Christian values this country used to hold dear. We’re losing our honesty, our integrity, standing by your word, hard work and being self sufficient, not being out for just me,me,me. We fear so much for our kids and grandkids.
Wow. Just to be clear:
1. I wasn’t needling you
2. The author’s error made me think of that which I already elaborated. Whether the author is in the group I noted was inconsequential.
3. I, among others, would never fault you, the poster, for errors of the author.
I’d buy you a beer for raising your hackles, but I’m NOT one of those you refer to...
I’m just one of those that believes the effort that goes into something of, say...100 words or greater should be written with some effort and, outside of authors of posted articles as noted, I only critique friends & family.
Tags, comments, short replies, slams/rips, rankles be damned insofar as grammar & spelling, especially if from a phone with an evil spell/grammar checker...
It has always been necessary to separate the chaff from the wheat in order to make a wholesome and palatable product. It applies to a great many things. It is not always pretty but it is necessary.
I do too but...I can't dwell and worry about things I have no control over. That is counter-productive. Living with fear is something I refuse to do.
I have two great kids. Smart, productive, driven and loving. My son is planning a wedding for October to a wonderful girl. He has a fire in his belly so I can only take comfort in what I have taught him and pray that he can provide for and protect his family as I know he can.
My daughter is brilliant and a gentle soul but she has a tough streak in her that will serve her well. I hope it is enough.
Contemplating and worrying what their world will look like when I'm gone...and how they will fare in it...is something I can't do. Down that road lies madness. And that road is slick with banana peels.
every Amendment since the Civil War has included some form of the phrase "Congress shall have the power". Prior to that, the standard was "Congress shall not".
My post was directed to you personally, but to the ‘English’ Police’ in general. Personally I have my hands full editing my own writing I don’t need to be held accountable for the English errors of others!
If I had a beer every time someone dinged me I couldn’t come to FR at all, because I be drunk all the time!

Agreed.
#4 should be #1 and the rest are symptoms.
Free trade with China should be at the bottom of the list.
Part of the problem also, as indicated by the article and the order in which the items were listed, is that people think you separate moral integrity from politics, education, etc.
Just like in the Bill Clinton days. We heard that what a man does in his personal life doesn’t affect his ability to do his job. That may be true to a limited degree, but a man with no personal integrity in private simply cannot be trusted and doesn’t have the wisdom to lead.
Thanks. Good point, well-stated, imho.
I’m seeing that lack of values on all levels from our leaders down to the average joe.
It's not teenage girls but grown people who are now flocking to their plastic surgeon so their selfies are better looking. I had suspected there was a rise in this silliness and sure enough the news had a story on it a couple nights ago.
