HuffPo Invokes Holocaust, 9/11 in Tirade Against ‘National Land Theft and American Genocide Day’

It happens every year. Someone on the left goes so overboard in their hatred for America that they can’t even let Thanksgiving pass without their wacky comments. This year, Huffington Post author Nicole Breedlove didn’t disappoint. Her piece bashed America under the headline: “Happy National Genocide (Thanksgiving) Day!”

Breedlove doesn't miss a beat—slamming everyone from Columbus and to the Pilgrims while invoking images of the Holocaust and 9/11. She began her piece talking about how her family “always gave thanks that all the Native Americans weren’t wiped out when Columbus ‘discovered’ America.” Because, of course, liberals assume Columbus personally killed every single Native American in a whole continent.

Then she launched into her full attack saying she “proudly” no longer celebrates the holiday. “Thanksgiving day should be known as National Land Theft and American Genocide Day,” she wrote. …

Christopher Columbus never sat foot on the North American continent.

Facts! We don’t recognize no stinkin’ facts!

The “Truth”. Just a white man’s trick to confuse us liberals into adopting a capitalist mentality.

We need to change the name of Columbus, Ohio to “He who brought genocide and cranberry sauce to the noble savage Native Americans who slaughtered each other with glee for centuries before the honkies arrived.

My name is Breedlove - aka screw your brains out and let society pay for my sexual diseases and warped, love-starved kids.

SARC/with a capital S, NOT!

Yawn. Since 1973 when the American Indian Movement (AIM) began it has been the same every Thanksgiving day.

On that day every Lib runs to see if he has any Indian blood and then plays the victim card, Yell, scream, fall down, get skinned up, rend your clothes and wallow in the dirt for “LO,the poor Indian”.

Then after they have made a sufficient display of wailing and weeping WE must ask, “Just how many dead Indians did your wailing and weeping bring back to life? NOT ONE!”

So what is the purpose of it other than just an exhibitionist display of grief. They would make good professional mourners at funerals in the olden days.

Explanation of the replacement of the Indians with the European settlers in New England:

The Indians overwintered inland by hunting and eating large animals such as deer, black bear, and beaver. When the opportunity came to sell the pelts to the Portuguese fishermen for wampum, they wiped out the large fur bearing fauna. They starved the next winter. Sucks, don’t it?

Then the Pilgrims came and walked in to an empty country. Cool, eh?

There were reports by Vikings that the land was well settled and densely populated a couple of centuries before the (other) Europeans showed up. If that is the case then some epidemic may have wiped out a large part of the population before the Europeans landed.

Cher has also gone the way of all the far-left Hollywood wackos when their careers run out of steam and they demand some more spotlight be shined on them. The media is glad to oblige, even though these people’s views are not newsworthy. Cher hates Thanksgiving. Before you know it, Elizabeth Warren, the faux Indian Senator from Massachusetts, will propose a bill in the Senate to ban the celebrating of Thanksgiving in the US. The liberals are so full of anger and hate, they don’t want anyone else to enjoy life, if they can’t.

Interesting. From Wikipedia:

History

Main article: History of syphilis

The exact origin of syphilis is disputed.[4] Syphilis was indisputably present in the Americas before European contact. The dispute is over whether or not syphilis was also present elsewhere in the world at that time. One of the two primary hypotheses proposes that syphilis was carried from the Americas to Europe by the returning crewmen from Christopher Columbus’s voyage to the Americas. The other hypothesis says that syphilis existed in Europe previously, but went unrecognized until shortly after Columbus’ return. These are referred to as the Columbian and pre-Columbian hypotheses, respectively.[15] The Columbian hypothesis is best supported by the available evidence.[35][36] The first written records of an outbreak of syphilis in Europe occurred in 1494 or 1495 in Naples, Italy, during a French invasion.[13][15] Due to its being spread by returning French troops, it was initially known as the “French disease.” In 1530, the name “syphilis” was first used by the Italian physician and poet Girolamo Fracastoro as the title of his Latin poem in dactylic hexameter describing the ravages of the disease in Italy.[37] It was also known historically as the “Great Pox”.[38][39]

The substantial Amerindian populations were devastated before and after the Columbian era contacts with Europe. The Meso-American Amerindian civilizations were drastically reduced on a number of occasions by forms of very deadly hemorraghic fevers. These contagions are some of the most horrible imaginable, and they wiped out whole communities. The valley where Mexico City is located is one of those locations, and it still has the potential for pandemics capable of wiping out more than half of a population.

Just prior to the European colonizations of North America there was a series of mega-droughts that devastated human populations in North America and Meso-America.

Exposure to Old World diseases for which the New World populations lacked immunities simply compounded an already devastation of Amerindian populations. Most of the deaths resulted from New World diseases and inter-tribal warfare and slavery. The Old World diseases added further such devastation without the afflicted Amerindian populations populations ever meeting the Old World people. The survivors of these catastrophes represented a small fraction of the Amerindian populations encountered by the Vikings a few centuries earlier. With a major fraction of the Amerindian people deceased by 1600, much of North America had quickly reverted to the primeval conditions that existed before the Amerindian cultures had used fire and other methods to transform the landscapes. It was these recently restored primeval conditions the Old World colonists found upon their colonizations of North America.

Little recognized is how the Old World colonists acquired possession and control of North America in sometimes more peaceful and more humane means than had been used by the Amerindians against each other and perhaps against possible Old World populations who may have preceded them in the colonization of North America more than 23,000 years ago.
