...in the face of a growing “bee apocalypse” that the Kremlin warns “will most certainly” lead to world war.

Sounds like much more than mere sabre-rattling. Absolute tragedy if the USA should, at the last, end up on the wrong side of history.

Read something recently where a bee guy had all his hives destroyed and queens killed because he had bred Roundup resistant bees.

It must be a satire but for some reason I see less and less bees every year.

Yes, just what is killing all the bees?

In a muted but growing crisis, the numbers of both wild and domesticated bees have been falling, resulting in a serious long-term threat to production of a number of different crops, particularly fruits. If it is the application of certain types of insecticides, then most certainly, that should be stopped or sharply curbed. If it is the spreading of some viral or bacterial infection, or some form of parasites on the bees, then effective methods of control should be devised and distributed at the earliest practical time. Or worst of all, because of genetic weaknesses that have crept into and been distributed throughout the various varieties and species of bees, that make them vulnerable to other outside influences, is there some clever young practitioner of beekeeping that can identify and suggest countermeasures?

Way more questions than answers so far.

Messing with plants that God created is not a good idea. Adding poisons (insecticides) to plant genes is a horrible one. We are in the wrong on this one....

Hard telling whether this is absolutely true, or an absolute fabrication.

I’ll wait for further evidence.

Just saying.

Soros seems to be investing a lot of money in agriculture these days. By golly, didn’t he buy up some Monsanto stock?

How much campaign loot did Monsanto give the Democrats? The enviro-hypocrites whine about fracking when their political cronies are causing the planet’s bee population to die, ensuring a shortage of food in the future.

We can rest much easier now knowing that the intelligent and well informed John Kerry is at the helm of our State Department. He will guide our nation through the dangerous days ahead as he will rely on the input of our president.

I know it sounds impossible, but he may work out much better than Mrs. Clinton.

“A single corn kernel coated with a neonicotinoid can kill a songbird,” Palmer said. “Even a tiny grain of wheat or canola treated with the oldest neonicotinoid — called imidacloprid — can fatally poison a bird. And as little as 1/10th of a neonicotinoid-coated corn seed per day during egg-laying season is all that is needed to affect reproduction.”

Sorry I will have to reserve judgment on this until I see this study duplicated by reputable scientist.

This is a paid for study by the American Bird Conservancy.

It just doesn’t make sense. These seeds are planted all over this country and the crow population is exploding. Crows feast on sprouted corn in fields all over this country during the spring at the peak of fledging. If this corn seed was so deadly there would be no crows in a few short years.

"Imidacloprid is a systemic insecticide which acts as an insect neurotoxin
and belongs to a class of chemicals called the neonicotinoids
which act on the central nervous system of insects with much lower toxicity to mammals."

"On 29 April 2013, 15 of the 27 European Union member states voted to enact a 2-year ban on the use of three neonicotinoids.
Eight nations voted against the ban, while four abstained."

No bees = starving world. Don't plant hybrid seed (genetically altered seed treated with neonicotinoids by Monsanto), plant heirloom seed grown with no pesticide and collect seed from those plants to be used the next year.

“On 26 March, Obama quietly signed this “Monsanto Protection Act” into law thus ensuring the American people have no recourse against this bio-tech giant as they fall ill by the tens of millions, and many millions will surely end up dying in what this MRNE report calls the greatest agricultural apocalypse in human history as over 90% of feral (wild) bee population in the US has already died out, and up to 80% of domestic bees have died out too.”

Please read the article. This is why we must stick to heirloom seed produced without this Monsanto pesticide.

neonicotinoids ?

I don't think I want to injest those. Aren't we told by Domino's Pizza to "avoid the Noid?"
