You won't believe how much has changed since then. Notice anything peculiar (other than the fashions) in some of these photos? (Many photos at link)

Sadly my job requires it. I wish I didn’t have one, or didn’t have one with a widely known number in my area.

I had one for a little while about 10 years ago. My old boss asked me one day why I never answered my phone. I told him the only reason I had it was so I could ignore his calls as much as he ignored mine. I talk maybe 4 or 5 times a month on a phone.

Definitely Long Island. Some of the jackets say "King's Park High."
But how do you know it's 1990, though? This is the look many people still associate with Greater New York.

1990, I turned 7 that year, I think my mom got my clothes at the Gap and JC Penny, oh and Marshall Fields.
My favorite part of the mall was Cinnabons.

my half-sister in the SF Bay Area (shes in her early 50s) and in a mid-life crisis, decided to get a big tattoo on her arm. Real classy.
I can understand a small tattoo in an discret area where the general public won't easily notice but these"In your face" tats and (ugh )nose rings, lip rings and "doorknob" studs" make them like circus sideshow attrations.
And the guys with all kinds of "piercings" They would be easy pickings in a fist fight.
Were I still a young man full of myself, at the end of our most excellent contest, the punks would be rolling on ground crying for his momma, and those shiny, but bloody ornament's would be hanging from MY rear-view mirror like a trophy...

In California, isn't a prerequisite for the job? (grin)
My little brother is a teacher here in Tennessee and he goes to work in a slacks(not jeans),starched white shirt and tie and demands respect from his students. He is tough but fair and even gives his kids his cell number to call if they need help on anything.
The wildest thing he brings to the classroom is his taste in ties.
He can be a hard ass if warranted but he can be very entertaining in his teaching methods.
I'm very proud of my lil' brother...

Hahaha
No, and unless he does something totally insane(And you know I mean) he's pretty safe.
Even though we have a pretty racially mixed community(near Fort Campbell) our area is always in the top ten if not top five, most conservative districts in the country where even the democrats are more conservative than alot of Repubs.
We have Marsha Blackburn as our US Rep. and very proud of her.
And lil’ brother has been named” Teacher of the Year” for the county several times because he does chose to teach the hardcases.
He teaches in the “bad school” in the county. Of course we all went to the same schools on the “wrong side of the tracks because that's where our family farm is. (lots of minorities, poor white, rednecks and solders’ kids school). Not where the rich established town folks.
He and his wife at each year hold a “Civil War Day” on our farm and his students are treated(if they're good) on the life of a typical civil war soldier(he and his his friends are civil war reenactors that portray either side.
It helps that we have alot of log building that in a house, blacksmith shop and smokehouse and antiques)and the soldier are fully equipped just like real ones.
And they have cavalry charges and, best of all, fire off a couple of really loud cannons. Everybody has a great time and the kids know if you get selected to be in his class, you will not have a boring year.

Saw a “Tape World” in one of the mall photos.
Unless they were selling office supplies, it was music store selling cassete tapes.
Except for a few diehards, I believe 8-tracks were out of fashion in the 80’s.
Maybe VHS video tapes....
