Last Sunday, the first installment of Historys five-part miniseries The Bible beat everything on television with a massive 13.1 million viewers, making it cables most-watched entertainment telecast this year. For producer Mark Burnett, who worked on the ten-hour special with wife Roma Downey, the success of The Bible isnt all that surprising. It will be, over the next 40 or 50 years, the most watched thing that Roma and I have ever made, he told EW, quite confidently, back in January.
At the time, Burnett gushed about shooting the series. I really believe what Im going to tell you right now, he said. The hand of God was on this . the edit came together perfectly, the actors came together perfectly, it just comes to life. But Burnett wasnt just speaking about how well the practicalities of production had gone. Weird things happened during filming, he said. Everybody would look at each other like, Whoa.
Here are a few of the weird things he was talking about....

The article clearly says that “last Sunday” it beat everything on television. Is NCIS on Sunday? Why are you distorting the plain text of the article? What is your agenda here?
I don’t know whether or not it was the highest rated show on Sunday, but you are plainly being dishonest about what was written.
I don’t see anything higher than 13 million.
I never watched it. If you guys accept Hollywood ratings lies then that is you problem. Just don’t cOmplain the next time Hollywood lies.
Morocco, I believe.
Oh I would never watch a non Catholic version of the Bible.
I believe it is going to be available from Amazon for $29.95.
As a non-Catholic, I would prefer the KJV. :)
and only rarely is any notice taken of the fact that Lot’s wife failed to secure husbands for her daughters
The men who were to marry the daughters wouldn’t leave.
Genesis 19:14 “So Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who were pledged to marry his daughters. He said, Hurry and get out of this place, because the Lord is about to destroy the city! But his sons-in-law thought he was joking.”
Jonty30 replies to the ‘nitpickers’ quite clearly: It may not be completely legit, but its teaching people who have absolutely no knowledge of the Word or God.
Additionally, I view this series as offering water to a man dying of thirst. Those who reject it because of “you’re not using the proper type of glass for serving water” mentality are willing to deny the Word of God to those who only know how it is misrepresented.
Hence, she failed ~ hence she got turned to some kind of rock ~ this source says Salt.
Amen to your brothers’ comment to you. See also my post #49. One could consider this the “classic comics” of my youth which took a famous novel and recreated it in comic book form. That manner got me to read many great novels that I otherwise never would have considered reading.
Blessings to you and your brothers.
Who knew Noah was a Scot ?

Yeah, I noticed that accent, too. Very odd.
That was a journey well worth the time.
Pope Francis just spoke about that didn’t he. Amazing ~ first thing on his mind ~ which means ~ he’s interested in evangelization. We can discuss the details of his motives later.
The most ancient moral burden was on Lot’s wife. Her husband had a mere supporting role.
The Angels told them don’t look back. She looked back. It seems that her mistake was “not letting go” of the doomed city.
The lesson is still current ~ today's modern woman doesn't work with her daughters in regard to picking out husbands, so the daughters go to the beerjoints downtown to try out the available stock. See what happens when you reject God's ancient laws!
Death to all misplaced apostrophes!!
“I wish it was from the true Catholic Bible...”
‘True’ Catholic Bible? You wouldn’t rather have it from a ‘False’ Catholic Bible?
Pretty disgusting choice of words there.
“As a non-Catholic, I would prefer the KJV. :)”
I rather like the 1611 Edition of KJ...it includes ALL of the Books of the Bible (includes the deuterocanonical books) ...
...and one of the most accurate translations, in my opinion, is the Jerusalem Bible, an English-language translation of the Bible which first was introduced to the English-speaking public in 1966 and published by Darton, Longman & Todd. It of course includes the deuterocanonical books.
