Karl 'FAIL' Rove Says What Republicans Need is More Racial-Identity Politics!
Reaganite Republican ^ | 04 March 2013 | Reaganite Republican

Posted on 03/04/2013 7:03:57 AM PST by Reaganite Republican

Time to tell Rove -and more importantly his good-money-after-bad donors- that this Prog Lite schtick will not only fail to attain incremental black/hispanic/+? votes, but will have conservatives going third-party in droves...

Out there pimping his so-called 'Conservative Victory Project', Rove claimed in a speech to the California Republican Party's spring convention in Sacramento this past weekend that '(Republicans) need to ... have people asking for the vote who are comfortable and look like and sound like the people that we're asking for the vote from.'

Yet back in reality, the Obammunists have driven this country to the edge of the abyss economically, socially, and militarily... and it's time for Republicans to prepare the antidote Americans of all colors and creeds will soon be clamoring-for, non attempt to mimic Obama's divisive failures.

Actual conservatism i.e. balanced budgets, respect for the Constitution, and Peace-through-Strength defense policies will be not just back in fashion but required to counter the nation's far-left swing and fix myriad woes left behind by the Obammunists -on a practical as well as political level- if there's even anything left of this country by then.

How is matching-up candidates to districts by skin color going to save this country from the seeds of catastrophe Obama's spread around like Johnny Appleseed, pray tell? Wouldn't it be better to attack deeply-damaging liberal policies- and soon be proven right?

If you believe in conservative principles -as I do- because they work, then you're almost surely with us who see Obama's polar opposite bringing economic, social, and military-strategic ruin.

Yet some people on our side don't seem to get it yet: when a dollar crash (or worse) comes about, all the racial groups Rove says will respond to shallow GOP racial pandering are instead going to be looking for principled leadership, security, opportunity, and a renewed US economic foundation... just like Reagan delivered in spades.

The Gipper always said we are ALL Americans, and abhorred racial identity bs- seems 'The Architect' missed all that. Three of the hottest rising stars in the GOP today are Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, and Ted Cruz, 2/3 Hispanic for those counting... did you not notice that Karl, or do they gotta be RINOs too?

In the wake of Karl Rove's humiliating face-plant in the 2012 election cycle, most thinking people can see that he really doesn't know what he's talking about- thus the hope of salvation for the GOP. Some even feel a new, Reaganite renaissance in shedding ourselves of his baleful influence. And how-sweet-it-is to contemplate Rove's coming demise: the guy's had a death-grip on this party for the last four cycles, where Republicans' only real gains came in 2010, delivered courtesy of the same TEA Party Rove now seeks to neutralize.

But he's not going without a fight... this has been a pretty juicy gig for Karl Rove, and apparently his major supporters haven't snapped out of it quite yet. As Newt Gingrich said re. Rove and other failed Establishment GOP consultants, they've 'made an amazing amount of money asserting an expertise they clearly do not have'-

And whatever happened to the colorblind ideals of Ronald Reagan- freedom and opportunity for all? Allowing Barack Obama to permanently divide this country into little socio-racial compartments is all Karl Rove will accomplish with this sort of crap, and precisely what Teddy Roosevelt warned us would be the death the American experiment.

What we DO need to do is unite all Republicans behind constitutional democracy, rule of law, and balanced budgets -not racial pandering. We're supposed to the party that looks past race and doesn't categorize people/think that way, remember?

The kind of racial identity politics that might work for the GOP (Hey, Hispanics, the Dems said you were their favorite minority. So why are the Blacks getting all that stuff??) would only serve to hasten the overall demise of the country.

The sooner Karl Rove's Repubican Party dies, the sooner a useful Party can rise from its ashes.

The snake-oil salesman is up to his usually tricks.

In 2010 Rove’s RINO super pac called itself “American Crossroads,” today the same crowd calls themselves the “Conservative Victory Project.”

Having backed the likes of Meg Whitmen & Carly Fiorina, while the Tea Party (that he loves to hate) backed Rand Paul, Toomey, Rubio and Lee -- what else can the Rove crew do but change names and push new “improved” snake-oil.

All we gotta do is peel a few donors off of him, opening the door to some new influence and talent imho

When the democrats decided to remove God or any reference to our Creator at their 2012 convention. They also demonstrated they are no longer the democratic party of your father’s father.

Rove, GOPES and RINOS lack the capacity or the understanding or the courage to point to the historic radicalization that occured at that moment and use it politically.

Rove is preaching going down the poisonous road to oblivion following a policy of PCP. Politically correct politics which the hyphenated democrat party, the Demo-Coms,is using. Afro-American, Hispanic-American, Asian-American, White-American, Rich-American, are more than simply descriptions but are vehicles used to separate US from each other. Beside separating their money become adhearants to a system without the constituional constrictions of government surrendering their will to the will of a bureaucratic collective which is no longer answerable to the average citizen.

What is amazing is that Rove has a record of being incapable if responding and conducting winning campaign where he’s given “creds from those seeking to destroy political opposition. Consider the missed opportunities offered by the 2012 election.http://www.theusmat.com/

What the Republicans need is conservative leaders with a set of balls unlike McConnel and Boehner who it seems have been neutered and NEVER were conservatives to begin with.

Well, I guess you’re right. The Republicans will exist as long as the Democrats have a use for them. I mean, if there were no Washington Generals, who would the Harlem Globetrotters play against?

He might be right. That might be the only way to “win.”
But then there will be no point in being Republican and I’ll have to forget election day. There won’t be any point in voting.

It's a fine line. If you campaign for votes based on the idea that Kerry or Gore doesn't look much like regular voters, if you don't like Mitt Romney or Lowell Weicker because they don't sound like "the rest of us" isn't the principle already established?

Rove leaves himself an out here -- electing candidates who are "comfortable ... [with] the people that we're asking for the vote from." That doesn't necessarily mean they have to be African-American or Latino, just that they have to be comfortable with the targeted voters (and depending on who we're asking for votes from racial minorities may not be the voters the candidates have to be comfortable with).

But like I said, it's a fine line. If you come from a part of the country where ethnic politics has been going on openly for over a century, what he says here will strike you as just common sense or as what always happens in politics, not some kind of nefarious racism. People vote for those who they can identify with. It's just more subtle sometimes in some places.

We MUST remember this...Karl Rove & Grover Norquist are joined at the hip!

“And he’s [Norquist] personally doing fine: Lee Fang at the Nation revealed this week that he gets two-thirds of his funding from two big corporate billionaire-backed nonprofits: the Center to Protect Patients Rights, which donated $4,189,000 to Americans for Tax Reform in 2010, and Karl Rove’s Crossroads GPS, which gave him $4 million.”

Lots of info on this thread!

The ideal GOP candidate:
1] Says he is pro-life to get Catholic voters
2] Can’t be a Catholic to get the Bible belt voters
3] Wants to bomb all of Islam to get the Jewish voters
4] Has a Spanish last name
5] Is rich

Tough one. Maybe Bachman if she gets divorced and marries a Mexican.

Actually, from my point of view the “perfect candidate”
1. Believes in smaller, less intrusive government and states rights (end the war on drugs, cut entitlements, block grants, cut regulations, abortion devolves to the several states, etc.)
2. Believes in less spending (balance the budget, start working on the debt)
3. Believes in an American nation: Borders, Language, and Culutre. Illegal Aliens get chipped and pitched out, the borders are fortified. THEN Immigration is “reformed” to the USA’s benefit (not to the Democrats’).
4. Is somewhat isolationist (no more foreign “adventures” if possible - but, if we’re provoked, we level their cities and towns, kill all the men and boys, and sell the women and girls into slavery and leave a desert behind when we leave).
5. Pro-small business - not a corporate lackey - tear down legal and regulatory barriers to small businesses growing into large businesses.
6. Gets the Feds out the Education business.
7. Thinks the only real gun control is good marksmanship; opposes new gun laws, supports ending old ones.
8. NOT Moslem or a friend of Saudi Oil Princes.

Can’t bring myself to care if he is rich, Christian, Spanish, or anything else.
