I believe that the two issues upon which the believing Church will never compromise are opposition to abortion and homosexual marriage. These are considered sacraments by the apostate mainliners.

It’s too bad even Free Republic has people that will hatefully attack fellow conservatives. Attacks like the one or two comments on this thread probably come from those who are not Christians and therefore do not understand—cannot SEE—what’s coming from this massive embrace of homosexuality by our nation-at-large.

Recipe for gay wedding cake:
Ingredients:
* 6 cups cake flour sifted
* 2 tablespoons baking powder
* 1 1/2 cups butter or margarine, softened
* 3 cups granulated sugar
* 2 cups milk
* 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
* 12 egg whites
* one cup fresh chicken droppings
* one cup fresh pig manure
* one cup fresh horse manure
* Cake Release
Makes:
12 cups of cake batter.
Instructions:
Step 1
Preheat oven to 325°F. Grease bottom of pans and line with waxed paper or parchment paper, or use Cake Release.
Step 2
Sift together flour and baking powder. Set aside. Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Set aside. Beat egg whites until stiff, but not dry. Set aside. With mixer at slow speed, add flour mixture to butter mixture, alternately with milk. Beat well after each addition. Beat in vanilla extract. Gently fold egg whites into batter. Pour into prepared pans. Bake until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.
Step 3
Cut one cake in half and spread 1 cup chicken droppings in middle before topping with other half.
Top first cake with one cup well-blended pig manure.
Cut second cake in half and spread with fresh horse manure.
Chill to thicken and spread with classic butter cream frosting for that traditional wedding cake look.

I remember a time not too long ago when many Freepers thought there would never be a state where 51% of the voting public would accept ‘gay marriage’ as possible.
When one’s definition of marriage is determined by whatever judges, pols, or the voting public think it is at any one time, it shouldn’t have been very shocking. To the state that’s all marriage will ever be. There are many faiths that will never have an absurd difficulty in defining marriage, as opposed to how the state defines the institution.

Homosexuals, and their sympathizers, destroyed the word “gay”. Lots of people of my generation are named Gay, and it was a perfectly decent word. Now the homosexuals have undermined its meaning starting in the ‘70s and have turned it into a negative word. There is NOTHING gay about the state of homosexuality. To call homosexualilty “gay” is like calling evil “good”, sadness “joy”, uneducated “learned”, etc.
So, now they want the word “marriage” applied to their “unions”. Well, we could just outsmart them and change the name of heterosexual marriage. I don’t have a candidate for a name yet, but I’m thinking about it. Of course we’d have to alter a plethora of laws and regulations to show the differentiation.
I know this sounds like abandoning the battlefield. But, that is exactly how George Washington won the Revolution — disappearing from the battlefield and hitting the enemy elsewhere!
In other words the meteor that exploded over Russia is a very small taste of what is to come.
I’m reminded of Lot who accepted the conditions of Sodom around him in exchange for living “peaceably” with the homosexual inhabitants. He even offered up his own daughters to appease them. And when the Lord told him to get out, Lot dug in his heels so that the Lord had to literally drag him out of Sodom while his wife was willing to look back much to her destruction. And then all he could do was moan for what he had lost.
This should be a warning for all Christians that it is far better to live in the wilderness like Abraham than to compromise with homosexuals. There is much to be said for loving and wanting people to come to Christ. But we shouldn’t fool ourselves either.
Homosexuality is the dead canary in the coal mine of civilization. The fact that this is rampant throughout the earth should tell us something.
We would be sorely remiss if we did not help one another to come out of sinful lifestyles and that cannot happen if we pretend homosexual acts are "just another lifestyle choice" equal in value to heterosexual marriage. It would be one thing if the idea of homosexual acts being sinful was a "human" invention, or societal "norm" akin to Victorian prudishness in dress codes. But, the fact that God has ALWAYS condemned such actions from the start and enacted severe punishments for those who indulged in them, shows us that it is something that HE judges and denounces. It's not up to us to tell God how to manage His creation or deem right from wrong.
That really IS the issue here. A Godless people thinks it can decide for itself what is right or wrong, good or bad. As the article states, a society or nation that goes down that path without stopping and repenting is surely headed for destruction. It's happened before, it can/will happen again. May Christ find us faithful to Him.

I’m not so sure they should be so loved.
Scripture very well tells us of those who rejected God’s natural affection and God Himself and were then turned over to their reprobate mind.
Even when fulfilling the Great Commission, were are also told to sell our tunic to buy a sword if unarmed and to not cast pearls before swine.
For those who have never heard the Gospel, yes, we should love them and share the Gospel. For those who have heard, rejected, and repetitively run to their sin, then attack Christ and God in their arrogance, they are enemies of Christ, not those who are to be loved.
Vengeance is the Lord’s, but giving them additional love in many cases is simply casting pearls before swine and may aggravate their condition to even lower aggressive states than before.
