The late pastor and Bible teacher Dr. J. Vernon McGee predicted that the believing Church in America would eventually be forced underground by persecution. He also predicted that the source of that persecution would be the government-approved mainline churches.
I believe that the two issues upon which the believing Church will never compromise are opposition to abortion and homosexual marriage. These are considered sacraments by the apostate mainliners.
