Prepare for Gay Marriage
I hate writing about this subject, but with both French and British parliaments passing gay marriage laws in the past week, were reaching a no-turning-back point in our world. God is sovereign and specializes in last minute rescues, but barring a Mordecai-type intervention we might as well face up to the reality that gay marriage is coming down the pike at an unstoppable speed, and its going to impact many Christians in damaging and even destructive ways. While continuing to pray, preach, and campaign against this (read these nine words again), we must also ask how we can prepare for the collision in such a way that minimizes the carnage.
1. Prepare our children
Most of us try to protect our children from sexual information until they are mature enough to handle it, without delaying so much that they end up hearing it first from someone else. We also want to lay a solid foundation of teaching them about Gods beautiful design for sexual relationships before eventually explaining the various perversions of Gods order.
That privilege of waiting until our children are old enough and of presenting the beautiful before the ugly will be increasingly denied us by the normalization and display of homosexuality in the media, in schools, and in the malls. This is going to be tough, but we will have to teach our children much earlier and about much more than we would ordinarily choose.
2. Prepare to love
Though Christians are often accused of hating homosexuals, homosexuals harbor far more hate for Christians than vice versa. They really do hate us in a way Ive never seen in any other group way more than radical Muslims or even the secular humanist and communist groups of the 1970′s to 1990′s, and thats saying something. They are our self-declared enemies and want to see our beliefs, words, and actions criminalized. They want to shut down our businesses, render Christians unemployable, and incarcerate our preachers.
In response, we must love them.
Thats going to be one of the hardest things we will ever do, as most of us will never have encountered such personal enmity from anyone. But we must beg for the spirit of Christ, who prayed, Forgive them father, for they know not what they do. We must graciously and gently good-news them and good-deed them, while being unflinching in our moral convictions.
We dont need to prove our spiritual manhood by condemning homosexuality in every sermon and prayer. Keep the focus on the saving love of Christ, no matter how tempting it is to get into constant condemnation mode. Remember, there are probably homosexuals in most of our congregations. Try to win them, not beat them.
3. Prepare for jail
I doubt most politicians really want lots of otherwise law-abiding citizens jailed for refusing to bake a cake for a gay wedding, or for preaching that homosexuality is wrong. Many do, however, want to create a climate of intimidation that will deter Christians from doing such things. If the UK pattern is a model and it looks as if US campaigners are using the same playbook they will pass hate-crime legislation, press charges against us, shame us in the media, stigmatize our businesses and churches, threaten us with the loss of our children, and impose substantial fines, all in the hope to scare us into silence. But when none of these things move us, the legal penalties will intensify until eventually some of us, maybe many of us, will end up going to prison for it. Wed better get ready for that inevitable reality.
4. Prepare for betrayal
This is going to be a sifting time. Some Christians will cave. Prominent preachers will compromise. Famous Christians will distance themselves from believers who have fallen foul of homosexual campaigners. Whats the point in going to jail? We can still preach the Gospel without ever mentioning homosexuality. We must be wise
.etc. There will be major Judas-type disappointments. The mighty will fall. But many humble unknown Christians will suffer honorably and beautifully and know the blessedness of being persecuted for righteousness sake.
5. Prepare a refuge?
This great nation was founded when a group of persecuted believers fled religious persecution to find and enjoy freedom of religion. Its beyond ironic that the very same pilgrims would be among the first targets of this new religious persecution if they were alive today. If the current trajectory continues, we will look at one another and ask, Where can we flee to? Perhaps a State will come forward that will stand up to this tyranny and offer refuge to thousands of moral and spiritual refugees, aliens in their own land. Maybe another Mayflower will be required, perhaps many of them, this time to sail away from these shores in hope of finding freedom to worship and serve God according to His Word. But where to? Where is left? Russia? Which brings us to
6. Prepare for eternity
The Bible makes clear, and history backs it up, that when a people goes down this route, its close to its end. It has run out of moral ground, its already over the cliff, and falling into the holy wrath of God. As country after country passes gay marriage laws, the end is coming closer and closer. If the USA falls, how far behind will Gods judgment be? The time is short and shortening. We need mercy, we need prayer, we need to plead with our family and friends to flee the coming wrath by fleeing to Christ the only savior of sinners yes even homosexual sinners that will come to Him for salvation.
In the meantime, lets not give up and give in but continue to do all that we can to save our society and precious souls.
I’m not sure how your article can be classified as ‘resistant’, when it begins with the conclusion that losing is inevitable.
Good post!
I imagine they are VERY much like the rest of us humans when it comes to self preservation!
Sure; there'll be those who do 'heroic' measures when saving someone else's life; but I'd guess that most would be intent on savin g their own first!
"Better to be judged by 12 than be carried by 6" is also on THEIR minds!
AMEN!
“WE” aren’t!
you display a mentality like Hitler in his bunker in the waning days of WWII, in which he ordered his followers to believe that the war was not lost as bombs rained down from above.
And that was my original point. Where would one move to? Austria? Asia? Africa? Europe? They all have gone this way. While sin is sin, there are degrees of sin and homosexuality is just about the lowest on the food chain. The embracing of homosexuality throughout the world should be an indication to Christians of something bad. Very bad.
I know Christians have been saying the end was upon them for 2100 years. But let's look at this rationally (not to say Paul wasn't rational). In the past believers like Abraham could simply move out to the desert and let God take care of the matter in localized areas like Sodom. Now believers can't move from these places even if we wanted to. We are unable to hide from the wrath to come. The world is deliberately vexing the Holy Spirit who works through believers. And while some of us might be like Lot, many of us are more like Abraham wanting to stay away from the situation all the while praying for these people. We have become like the days of Noah where we are building an ark while people laugh at it.
The world is coming into final judgment. We just need to understand this.
The following paragraph is from a history website with emphasis on the Battle of Fort McHenry and our Flag with slight modifications.
Read the paragraph below several times. This paragraph shows just how much freedom meant to these soldier who died holding up our Flag!
Upon discussing the previous night with survivors of the great battle, he learned just how much keeping the flag flying had meant to the soldiers. The flag itself was hit many times and had holes in it. In addition, several times through the night a cannon ball had hit the flag pole. It was hit enough times that the pole was actually leaning and in danger of toppling over. Brave men rushed to the pole to help prop it up with their bodies and arms. When one man holding the flagpole up was shot, another was ready to take his place. The bodies of these men were piling up, one on top of the other. When the dawn came, the carnage was clear. The flag was being held up by the brave men all dead or dying. It meant something to them to keep this flag flying. This is how they kept the flag flying all night!
Think of these brave men rushing to hold up our flag makes one cry, if one has a heart. Men rushed in throughout the night fearing not. Each man knew it meant curtain death, yet still each man went to hold up our flag. Many since have asked Oh, What's the Point. God forgive them for they know not what each man knew on that night.
A path for each woman and man in America was lain out that night. Nobody want to die. And a sane nobody does not want to kill or be killed, but the men who held up that flag went. Insanity ruled that night. It was suicide to go prop up that flag, but those men went. Do you want to prop up America? Speak up. Become involved. Hold the politicians and the medias feet to the fire. Go and prop up the flag. I can guarantee you ... probable death.
Surrender? This War is Lost? We must understand why they hate us? My answer shall be for the lives of those men and women in the present willing to go out to hold the flag high shout a resounding NO of I will not retreat, I must not understand anything except being an American requires sacrifice. Being an American also means taking a stand. Those men on that night took a stand. It turned the War of 1812, as History calls it, around from being a defeated America to being a victorious America. When and if the time comes, it all boils down to where each of us will stand. Will each of us stand under the flag knowing certain death is coming or will each of us run and hide? I know not yet, for my test has not come from God but God will come and God will test us all. What these men did on that night of 1814 for America by holding up that flag causes one to weep if one is sane. The insane and the lost, we can only pity them.
Because if you read it is about resisting, nor acquiescing or accommodating like those you you falsely label them as being, but planning for the future while containing to fight.
“While continuing to pray, preach, and campaign against this (read these nine words again)...
It will be a bloody war, and there is not lack of courage in making plans on how to continue to fight if the populace becomes even more “Vichy,” a most of the Republicans party is doing, as we see God delivering souls over to delusion.
“but planning for the future”
A future, in which God most assuredly will triumph.
Indeed He will, but the Lord was not teaching Vichy Christianity when He taught “But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.” (Matthew 10:23)
And which leaving the author of the article only places as postulation. I live in a very liberal state sanctioning gay marriage, and usually outreach wherever i go, and when the government came here to mark the opening of a new development, i made up a sign and protested against him as being pro-abortion, pro-homosexuality, pro-death. He avoided me. And have no plans to leave.
And I’ve left a pro-gay leftist state for Texas. There is no shame in strategic retreat. But now I will fight.
Texas is not a state but a country I’m told.
We seem to have read two different articles. I read it as a warning; you read it as an endorsement of capitulation. I would compare it more to Churchill's warnings during his "Wilderness Years" which fell on deaf ears. Churchill warned of the reality of Hitler and the expansion by force of the Third Reich. By doing so, he was not advocating collaboration. This article is warning us of what to expect when "gay marriage" becomes the law of the land; just as Churchill warned of what to expect from attempts to appease Hitler.
I don't know how you see the article as saying "bend over and take it"; but you can perceive things the way you wish.
Question: do you really not believe that "gay marriage" will eventually be the law of the land and that those of us who disagree will be criminalized?
“do you really not believe that “gay marriage” will eventually be the law of the land and that those of us who disagree will be criminalized?”
Yes, and that is why I view this article as Vichy-Republicanism. It starts from the false standpoint that gay marriage is inevitable.
We need to start from precisely the opposite standpoint - that gay marriage is inherently flawed and contrary to natural law. It cannot stand because there is nothing for it to stand on.
I’m not so sure they should be so loved.
Scripture very well tells us of those who rejected God’s natural affection and God Himself and were then turned over to their reprobate mind.
Even when fulfilling the Great Commission, were are also told to sell our tunic to buy a sword if unarmed and to not cast pearls before swine.
For those who have never heard the Gospel, yes, we should love them and share the Gospel. For those who have heard, rejected, and repetitively run to their sin, then attack Christ and God in their arrogance, they are enemies of Christ, not those who are to be loved.
Vengeance is the Lord’s, but giving them additional love in many cases is simply casting pearls before swine and may aggravate their condition to even lower aggressive states than before.
Well, the problem is what "so loved" means. If that means a lack of reproof then that is not love, for while "God so loved the world that He gave" the most precous Object of His love to save it, yet that Object said, "Me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil. " (John 7:7)
As how can i love my neighbor as myself if i do not oppose a practice that will send them to an eternal Hell and likely an early grave?
Yet knowing that the wages of sin is the second death, as that is what even the best Christian truly merits in pure justice, and that every believer was once a child of wrath, then the true born again believer can be an instrument of grace showing care, and in calling all lost to forsake the foolish and live, (Prv. 9:6) "Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. " (Acts 20:21)
And this also serves to warn them, as per Ezek. 33:8, but yes, there is a time and occasions to stamp the dust off your feet, and move on, but that is a matter of discernment.
good post
My compliments daniel1212. Great thread! May each of us weave a rope to hold on to.
