Why Barack H. Obama will be the last President of the “United” States

By John Gonzales

Consider the current rifts in our American society. After four years of this administration’s divisive rhetoric and policies, we have been divided - then subdivided - into a disparate consortium of “voting” blocks. We are a society that identifies its members by political party, race, income brackets, social and religious affiliations, then again: pro-life, pro-choice, the 47%, the dependant class, the wealthy, millionaires (defined by this administration as anyone making more than $250,000 annually), social conservatives clinging to their guns and bibles, liberals, Christians, atheists, tax payers, welfare takers, wall street, main street, gay, straight, illegal immigrants (sorry, undocumented workers), racists, constitutionalists, statists, and the list goes on.

Four years, during which our country has become more segregated than it has been since the great Civil War, with the central issues being slavery and individual states’ rights. The divisions ran so deep and wide, and the positions were so passionately held, that it pitted father against son, and brother against brother. So divided were we that we took up arms against each other. That was then, this is now.

Four years of entrenching the current polarization to the point of institutionalizing it in our politics, in our courts and worst of all in our schools. This generation of children, our future, will have been subjected to eight years learning and studying this new normal. George Orwell said, in his prophetic book 1984, “He who controls the past controls the future. He who controls the present controls the past.” Ask yourself who has control of this present, because their “narrative” will shape (and reshape when needed) the past for our children and therefore they will define our future.

Now fast forward to 2016, after four more years of the same shaping. How much more divided can we become? I earnestly believe that we can become much more separated from each other as Americans. And the more we separate from each other and allow ourselves to be categorized and identified in this manner, the deeper the trench, the wider the chasm, and the longer it will take to repair and recover the “unity” of being identified as Americans.

Consider that in just the last 60 days over 675,000 Americans in 50 states have signed petitions asking for state secession from our union. Of course, these (mostly online) petitions have no formal legal bearing because our constitution does not identify a process for secession, and the very act was deemed illegal as an outcome of our US Civil War. Coupled with the fact that these petitions have currently been filed by individual citizens, not state government officials, it makes the reality of secession highly improbable, for now.

However, if we apply the universal formula for dissatisfaction: that for every one person who takes the time and makes the effort to complain about a particular business, there are 10 other consumers who feel the same but do not express it. And by placing the US in the role of the business, and its citizens cast in the role of its customers, we can extrapolate that no fewer than 6,500,000 of our fellow citizens feel the same way, a bit more substantial. And although this still only constitutes 2% of the total US population, remember that those signers of these secession petitions are only those signing in the last 60 days or less. After another four years, I wonder.

Now, here comes the “catch” in my missive. I believe that change is imminent. Profound change is racing towards our country and our world like a tsunami. One that will bring difficulties that will dwarf any this present generation has seen. As Americans, we are facing the same national turmoil we witness today in Greece, Spain, Egypt, Libya, Iran, France, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, etc. Turmoil that enflames a divided citizenry, ignited because of financial chaos, politics or religion.

With four more years of this widening separation, and the clock ticking faster than the last 10 seconds of an episode of “Chopped,” I fear that restoring our “United” States may take longer than we have.

On June 17, 1858, Abraham Lincoln famously told the US "A house divided cannot stand." But today our country is exactly that - divided.

Ask yourself if it is worth saving. It exists only as an idea in our memories and in the yellow pages of dusty books.

Good essay, John. I concur completely.

With the alleged re-election of Obama, I see no path to victory for the right in national politics, ever again. The hard left will cement everything he’s done into stone, so that our sort of America can never be restored through our constitutionally established processes.

By 2016, the red states may be looking to elect their own president.

Of COURSE it's worth saving ... BECAUSE of the memory THAT CAN BE RECLAIMED AND REJUVENATED

But it will cost innocent, sacrificial lives perhaps exceeding the number lost in WW2.

I'm personally toying with the thought of whether I've lived a good life long enough that I have not had to sacrifice for.

Interesting points and well thought out.

however, I disagree. 675,000 people signing a petition is meaningless. And if not meaningless, close to meaningless. It’s not a lot of people. Signing a petition is easy. There are more people in Montana than signed those petitions. And just not that many people think as we do. We are vocal and passionate, but we are not a huge number.

Furthermore, the U.S. will not remain divided. It will move more and more towards one direction and that direction is not us. The demographic changes are clear and convincing. Furthermore, these groups voted HEAVILY for the Rats.

Then there is the practical problem. No one, not even most “conservatives” will permit this to happen. There are no leaders whatsoever on our same page. I lived through the uproar after Wallace ran and they were even more vocal than we ... and they spoke of secession ... and here we still are.

Of course we are upset about the election and the direction of our Nation. But unless we work on selling Conservatism as a governing philosophy, there will be no division, separation, etc. There will only be our complete and utter demise.

You mean that when Obama’s term is up he will just deem that he is now Emperor and President for life?

Obama, President For Life?
Mollie Hemingway, Ed. · May 3, 2012 at 9:15am

The U.S. House Committee on the Judiciary is considering a bill that would repeal the Constitution’s 22nd Amendment prohibiting a president from being elected to more than two terms in office.

Rep. Jose Serrano, D-N.Y., earlier this month introduced the bill, H. J. Res. 5, which, according to the bill’s language, proposes “an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President.”

I am so pissed off!!! They want their Socialism, let’s give them it, and give them it so much they choke on the damned stuff!

Time to accelerate the Inevitable Decline and pin the blame exactly where it belongs.... Liberalism/collectivismcommunism/socialism...

If the dead can vote...

If the Dead can vote then the dead gotta be able to eat and do many other things that a normal person can do, well except hold a job and be a productive member of society.

The Dead Gotta Eat...

It just occurred to me, all those dead voters need to eat too, I mean if you are dead and you just spent a long election season voting several times for your favorite democrat president, the food stamp president and you get bupkiss for your your vote, well nuts to that, why not sign your corpse-y self up for some government cheese? I mean if dead people gotta vote, dead people gotta eat too?

If Obama is gonna double down in his second term, why not double down on his food stamp numbers by making sure that his favorite voting block is asking “what can government do for me”....

So grab a shovel and a piece of paper and pencil and an acorn clipboard and head down to the local cemetery to sign up the dead tired, starving to death, and those who are just dying to get a good meal or two...

The dead gotta eat, and voting is hungry work.... Starve the beast by feeding the dead...

The Dead Gotta Read...

You gotta be able to read to vote and the dead are no exception. I would suspect that the dead read things like the New Your Slimes, Washington Compost, Mother Bones, and the Rolling GraveStones... So every single magazine subscription card you get need not be thrown away, instead fill it out with name of the dead voter and the address of their residence which would be the cemetery. The dead have got to be able to read all the liberal crap magazines because after all they vote Democrat Every Single Time....

The dead gotta read, cause you gotta read to vote... Starve the liberal MSM media beast...

The Dead need a Phone...

Besides Voting the dead gotta be able to take phone calls, how else are they supposed to respond to pollsters asking them which way they will vote. It is so very hard to get a landline installed at your grave-site these days but there is a solution, the magical Obamaphone is just the thing. Sign up all these poor “Living Impaired - Americans” to an Obama Phone or two, heck they may need more phones as after the batteries run out in their first phone they can’t recharge them, I haven’t seen too many electrical sockets in graveyards.

The Dead gotta be Polled... Starve the Beast by Picking up the Courtesy phone...

Many may think this is humor but it is not supposed to be funny, and many here have talked about “Going Galt”....

To heck with “going Galt” it is too slow, instead of going just over their heads by going Galt and refusing to be a maker, Go WAY OVER THEIR HEADS and “Poll Vault” by becoming a SUPER TAKER, or an “Under Maker” and sign up the dead to as many social programs and government freebies as undead-humanly possible.

If it is good enough for an election system that the UN observers from crap-hole countries are surprised about how insecure it is. But the left cries “voter suppression” like a stuck pig when a simple fraud prevention measure like photo ID is required by a state, then why the hell should the welfare state and the apparatus that supports it be any different.

When you are fighting against people who’s playbook is dedicated to satan (rules for radicals), you have to start using the playbook written by cuthulu!

Trying to play Mr. Rogers doesn’t work when the Civil Society has been destroyed by the “Great Society”, it is time to play Mr. Machiavelli.

To hell with Civil Disobedience, it is past that now, it is now time for Economic Disobedience, and Social Program Disobedience.

They want Communism, Maybe we should give them so much damned communism they choke on the damn stuff by collapsing the socialist systems they have “frog boiled” us into taking. We MUST shove that communism they love so DAMNED MUCH so DAMNED far down their DAMNED throats that they will still be crapping out hammers and sickles after they become the “Voting Dead” because they will be ANYWAY.

But is must be done SOON, because once they take away certain parts or all of amendments 1-10, the quick reset option will not be possible, just misery and Soviet style decline.

I don’t know if Obama will technically be the last president or not, but with the GOP-E in charge of orchestrating the opposition, elections and voting appear to be rather pointless endeavors that are hardly worth bothering with.

I still like to keep the notion of a Palin run to keep up the fiction for me that the country is indeed salvageable and actually might have a future. But the real question I’m most likely to ponder nowadays is not whether or not the country is salvageable, but whether or not it’s even worth salvaging at this point. Between the economic decay, the cultural decay, and the moral decay, there’s really not much left.

I’m no longer averse to such ideas as secession. The topic has been bandied about here in Texas my entire lifetime, but only recently started looking like a genuinely viable option.

Of course, these (mostly online) petitions have no formal legal bearing because our constitution does not identify a process for secession, and the very act was deemed illegal as an outcome of our US Civil War.

The first step in the process of a legal secession would be to amend the Constitution to provide for secession procedures. That would be hard.

More fundamentally, the biggest obstacle to secession is the patriotism of the American people. There doesn't exist a state or even a county in which a significant percentage of the population would ever consider turning against the USA.

The only realistic alternative for folks who feel that they are stuck in a country that they hate is to emigrate to somewhere they like better, like the South of Brazil, the home of the Confederados, the only unreconstructed Southerners left in the world.

I do believe the KA KA will hit the fan soon.

Remember, the highest value targets are politicians, lawyers, leftists, and anyone still stupid enough to have an Obama sticker on their bumper.

The future will consist of self-gerrymandering of red v. blue states. Productive citizens will settle in right-to-work, business friendly states.

The other states will just have to ask for the IMF and World Bank to bail them out. We may also see a dramatic decline in enlistment in the U.S. Armed Forces. The Feds will just have to use mercenaries or illegals.

At what point do we fight and at what point do we give the failed system they have wanted for so long to teach them a lesson on how it won’t work....?

I am still trying to figure this out....

Not true. Not a single person was ever prosecuted for secession. They tried to prosecute Jefferson Davis for treason but eventually had to admit they had no basis for prosecution and the charges were dropped.

I know two things (well actually more then two things, but for this post only two things are important).

1) History is not a straight line. If all things being equal and if nothing occurs to change it, this nation is going full force towards socialism. However history shows that the best laid plans of mice and men often go astray. Often by something unseen or unexpected. Because it is unseen and/or unexpected it can not be predicted. What can be predicted is some event or movement will occur that will changes the direction we are going. Of course this could be good or bad.

2) Socialism does not work, in fact it can not work no more then a perpetual motion machine works. Human nature gets in the way. Right now the electors have discovered that they can vote themselves gifts from the treasury. Those that vote for this neither know or if they do know don’t care where the money really comes from they voted for themselves. Those that are productive will just as soon discover there is no point in being productive if those that are not are reaping the benefit of their labor. They will stop producing or will find a way to keep more of what their labor earns.

Socialism can not work since governments do not create the wealth they wish to distribute. Running the printing press or borrowing will only keep the engine running is like an ocean going steam ship that ran out of coal, and begins burning everything on the ship. Eventually there is nothing left to burn. If the ship had not made it to a port by then, all is lost.
