Unfourtunatly breast cancer runs in the female side of the family. Her Mother is a 20 year survivor but her Grandmother and Greataunt passed away from it. Any and all prayers are welcome.

I’m so sorry your family has to go through this, fella. It must be a stressful and scary time for all of you.

A friend of my daughter’s and her sister are at high risk: their mother died of breast cancer as did their aunt and grandmother.
They are both around 30. They’d be best tested now, wouldn’t they? and can that gene be detected at any time?

I will pray for your daughter. Many advances have been made in the field of breast cancer diagnosis and treatment and you can rest assured that she is in competent hands and will get the very best care from the surgeons, hospital staff and all who are blessed to know her.

She looks to be a precious, lovely daughter.
I’m going to donate now. all the best, Mary in Wisconsin

PS Caringbridge.com is a great site and way for your daughter to share updates without having to talk to each person who wants to follow her progress.

Thank you for your prayers and the careingbridge site, i will pass it on to her. She is something else, here it is 2 days until her surgery and she is at work, pretty much like her mother.

Yes one of those girls should get genetic testing, it ain't cheap but then the second girl's testing will be cheaper as the geneticist will know what genes to look for instead of doing a total scan. It what my girls have done, it wasn't planned that way it just sort of happened.

We're working on a way to get one of us up there to be with her.

My prayers for God’s blessings and through the intercession of Pope John Paul II may God grant her cure.

Reba went through 3 hours of surgery during the noon hours today, none of us could be there but the word is that she upbeat and positive going in (Half of the battle). Afterwards they said that it went really well no excessive bleeding and nothing in the main lymph nodes and didn't have to get into the chest wall. They think they got it all. As the eldest girl said “Praise the Lord!”.

fella, I’ve been wondering how Reba is doing. You’d mentioned follow up surgery. I know how difficult this is for her and your whole family, and that time to keep us updated is at a premium. Know that you and she and your entire family remain in our prayers.

Reba came trough the bilateral in good spirits however the laproscopic ovary removal hit her hard and it's taken her awhile to get her spirits back up. The next step is chemo and starts in a few weeks.

As already noted, Reba remains in my prayers, as do you all. I’m not sure why, but the after-effects of laproscopy in many cases seems harder to recover from than invasive surgery. Maybe it has to do with the post-op care in hospital vs home? In any case, hope she gets those spirits up soon, before the chemo starts. God bless your entire family.

How’s our gal doing? Hopefully she’s well past the worst of it and looking forward to blessed holidays.

She is about midway through her Chemo treatments and having a hard time of it. Has had to go into the hospital a couple of times for IV hydration and has missed a lot of work but she's hanging in there. That BARCA2 genetic marker is is hard to deal with. Her Great-Aunt and Grand-Mother both passed away with Breast Cancer and her Mother is a 20 year survivor. Now our oldest daughter is going to have preventative surgery next Tuesday because she too has the marker. All in all it's been a very rough year But the Lord has also been kind enough to show us the way and kept us strong. Thanks to All for your prayers.
