Vitacost dropped Rush Limbaugh as a sponsor yesterday. Seems that the company is already trying to backpedal after receiving tons of negative feedback.
Yesterday's message:
Wed like to address an issue with our radio ads -- one of which aired on the Rush Limbaugh radio show. To put it frankly, Mr. Limbaugh's recent comments have been unsettling, and many of our fans have voiced concern that Vitacost endorses these views. These comments are definitely not in line with our brand values, and in listening to our fans we've decided to remove our advertising from the program.
And today's soft reinterpretation:
Here at Vitacost.com, our goal is to take the cost out of healthy living by offering thousands of healthy products at affordable prices. To promote this mission, we launched a national radio advertising campaign in January that airs on many different programs, including the Rush Limbaugh show. As a result of the derogatory comments Mr. Limbaugh made on his program, we decided to remove our advertising. We appreciate and support Mr. Limbaughs right to voice his opinion, just not how he delivered his message. Our decision was in no way a statement about Mr. Limbaughs or his listeners political views, but rather his lack of respect for another human being. Vitacost.com takes healthy living very seriously, and we believe that respect for others is a huge part of that healthy lifestyle.Thank you,
David Zucker, CMO

PS: If you're on Facebook, "Like" Vitacost. I have been dropping bombs every time they post a new entry on their Facebook page!
PPS: see the last message I posted to yesterday's thread (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2854873/posts) -- I did some comparisons between Vitacost and other vendors who were mentioned. Swanson and iHerb came out on top; Puritan, close second.
You’d have to be smoking crack to think that’s backpedaling.
Sorry man. I do not agree with your position. Respect you as a fellow poster and enjoy your thoughts.
I am struck by anyone demanding I pay their living, perhaps for a generation. I call them, the majority of them, for what they are. blood suckers, leeches, punks etc and worse. I don’t owe them full shopping carts, free cell phones or any number of other things.
I don’t owe any woman or man prophylactics, pills, sponge or any other fluid barrier. if I do the there is a name for someone who takes monies for sexual activity and when qualify their argument @$3,000 I have to quantify what that means and ti what axtivity it realistically could be for.
It seems to me that anyone who requires $3,000 of someone else’s money and that price ia exacted from my wallet, well then we have a name for someone who accepts something of value for sex.
What would the Founding Fathers say?
you forgot D. All of The Above.....got me through school all those years ago as well.heheh

These are the best chocolate cherries bar none!
My my my...
All those words from you on THIS thread, yet on a previous thread you call me “shallower than a dry riverbed” for saying Rush should not apologize.
Hmmm!
No need to reply, I see how ya are.
“Vitacost.com takes healthy living very seriously”
Lol...yeah, I’m sure someone who needs $3,000 worth of BC has a “healthy lifestyle”!
I’ve been a customer of Vitacost and I wrote them yesterday saying I would never use them again because of their Limbaugh actions, and that there are plenty of supplement companies out there.

On May 24, 2010, a class action was filed against Vitacost for violations of federal securities laws, including securities fraud. This involved several Vitacost executives, including their CEO and CFO.
Vitacost has also inspired complaints for a controversial "cash back" offer called "SavingsAce", which results in recurring monthly charges to customers' credit cards. Customers lured by the prospect of receiving cash back who do not read the fine print often unknowingly sign up for the "SavingsAce" program and are surprised to see the monthly charges. Vitacost has responded by changing the method of signing up for the offer from a one-click button to a whole form.
.... and Dr. Laura and Bristol Palin and Ann Coulter. The list goes on and on.
I said you have am intellect shallower than a drive riverbed. I didn’t say you were.
There’s a difference. It’s subtle bit it’s there.
Seems there were quite a few others, from the get go, who felt nearly the same.
And you can justify that when you post such things on other threads? That takes some impressive mental contortions to do it. No wonder you think I have a shallow intellect. My thoughts don’t require any contortions.
I have no idea what you said and even more astounding what you are talking about.
I’ll be back in an hour or so if you want take some time and put together something witty or interesting.
Don’t worry about gaysabre Vendome, he’s as idiotic as liberals. Allow this “pretend Marine” her to yap more nonsense LOL
You know perfectly well.
