The geographic concentration of much of President Obama's political support in a few large Blue States and urban areas means that he could be defeated for re-election this November even while winning the popular vote. What few seem to have seriously considered so far is how daunting the present shape of the political battlefield actually is for the President on a state-by-state level, and what that means when it comes to using national tracking polls as a metric to guess who would win a Presidential election held on any given day. If you look closely enough at the numbers, it becomes clear that it is both mathematically and practically possible for the right Republican candidate to assemble a majority in the Electoral College while losing the popular vote by as much as 5%.

If they win the popular vote and don’t get to keep Obama, they will riot.
Our Framers anticipated most elections would end up in Congress. The popular vote count is irrelevant.
There is no Constitutional crisis should the election to go to the House of Reps.
Bring it.
Fine, let obammy’s people riot.
Would be wonderfully entertaining to see where and how the riots would be put down and by who???
Unionized police? Iffy.
I guess that result will differ by state and even areas within a state. What will the undermanned Oakland cops do? There may not be an Oakland if the articles premise comes about.
If they LOSE the popular vote and don't get to keep Obama, they will riot.
wins the popular vote while losing the Electoral College, will he accept the result and step aside or will he allow his supporters to attempt some sort of extra-Constitutional effort to perpetuate him in office?
...I hope the next thing you would see on the news is a long stream of military vehicles moving up I-95 from NC to remove the “Interloper”.
If there is a socialist revolt, the scenario won't have enough socialists to repeat itself a second time. Bring it.
The WHOLE IDEA of the Electorial College was to ensure that the President have WIDESPREAD support from all parts of the country—not just support in the (easily bribed) cities.
Otherwise, the election would go to the House.
That’s how it’s ‘sposed to be, anyway.
If anybody cares.
So..if this happen..would you let the Obama core parts of the country split off?....
Chicago, Las Vegas, Detroit, NY, Philly, Miami and Cleveland.
There is no hope for kalifornicator, I'd give it back to mexico except that would extend the border by another 500 miles.
If Obama (Lord, I’ve come to despise that name!) wins the popular vote but loses the electoral vote, I can see him refusing to yield, saying that the “will of the majority should be honored” and calling his minions out in massive protests which quickly become riots.
After all, he has regularly disregarded the Constitution in other matters which were less important to him, so why not take the final step?
So many are fooled by “national” vote polls.
Here’s the reality:
Win all the 2008 McLame states (not that difficult)
Flip Ohio, Florida, Indiana (already a lock, I’ve handled it), and Penn.
If not Penn, then NC + VA.
Overdue.....
On a totally unrelated topic, when I was in school and there was trouble brewin’ between two students, the coaches would sometimes take them to the gym and let them have at it just to get it out of their systems.....seemed to work.
they will riot.
Their last act on earth.
>>...If they win the popular vote and dont get to keep Obama, they will riot...<<
And when they do, they will be trashing their own Obama-ville neighborhoods. Once you get out past the burbs and the hayfields beyond, we’ll be watching it on the news and remarking how utterly idiotic and self-destructive they are. Then we’ll shrug & chuckle and go back to our normal lives.
If they try to export that crap out here, I think they will leave sorely disappointed. Emphasis on *sorely*.
