A retired U.S. lieutenant general who made comments some consider disparaging to Islam withdrew Monday from speaking at a West Point prayer breakfast after a progressive veterans advocacy group VoteVets.org along with the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) asked the Army chief of staff to rescind the invitation.
Last week The Blaze reported VoteVets.org told Gen. Raymond Odierno in a letter that allowing retired Lt. Gen. William G. Boykin to speak at West Point next week would be anathema to Army values and disrespectful to Muslim cadets.
According to the Associate Press, late Monday afternoon, West Point issued a statement saying Boykin had decided to withdraw speaking at the Feb. 8 event and that another speaker would take his place.,p>
For its part, CAIR is celebrating the outcome.
We welcome Mr. Boykins withdrawal from this event and hope that the speaker who replaces him will offer cadets a spiritual message that promotes tolerance and mutual understanding, CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad said in a press release.
Awad added that CAIR has been challenging Boykins un-American bigotry for a number of years.

Again political correctness is taking a back seat to free speech. Of course this mainly occurs if radicals threaten violence - usually radical Muslims! This of course makes their actions inconsistent with our Constitution.
If this keeps up, it might be time for radical Christians to revolt just to even things up a bit and awaken those that believe in our freedoms. Too bad that we don’t have such a group - must be our belief system.
So some retired Army General dares speak of the dangers inherent in coddling Muslims and our "Leadership" condemns HIM, the General? Neo-nazis are a social/religious group as well, but they have less freedom than Islamo-fascists in our military. Wow...
the discussion includes.. our government has Muslim Brotherhood documents and their blueprint to dismantle America.
Plan: Destroy them from within by their hands.
CAIR has a big influence on media, the Muslim Brotherhood is in our government.
An example is our government calling Fort Hood Massacre 'Workplace Violence
Obama puts Islam first.
America should take notice that somebody’s rights have been infringed upon whenever CAIR applauds.
Until not long ago, the service academies reflected the best of the American tradition. F islam and muzzies.
Heres a little ditty I made up, entitled No muslims at all, in support of deporting all muslims from America:
(Sing to the tune of Home on the Range)
Oh give me a home where the muslims dont roam,
And the Christians and Jews have free rein.
Where seldom is heard a discouraging word,
And we can be free once again!
No muslims at all!
No hijabs, no mosques and no CAiR.
Where the suicide bombs dont threaten our homes,
And freedom breaks out everywhere!
So the Eisenhower idea of having a Prayer Breakfast has been hijacked, if I was one of the other invited guests...I would leave Mr. Obama with all of his Muslim cronies. Eisenhower would NOT be happy.
When CAIR decides who gets to speak at West Point, it is time to bring our troops home. We need them here.
very good!
If you upset CAIR then you’re on the right course.
Turkey may soon be a security issue for US. Israel may be pounced on.
“”The Blaze reported VoteVets.org told Gen. Raymond Odierno””
Who are these guys? Sounds like something Kerry would put together....
I was glued to GBTV during the entire two hours. I recall that we saw the “SOA” (Soldier of Allah) story on Hassan’s business card here on FR after the jihadist massacre at Ft. Hood.
NEVER AGAIN.
Question: "...allowing retired Lt. Gen. William G. Boykin to speak at West Point next week would be anathema to Army values and disrespectful to Muslim cadets." WTF?
"Mr. Boykin"? Historians still refer to General Benedict Arnold and you pipsqueaks refer to General Boykin as "Mr"! Pardon me while I fart in your general direction. My opinion of C.A.I.R. could walk under a snake in a top-hat. If they weren't funded by Islamic oil money they would be working from a closet in somebody's basement.
