So am going to get some Eggnog tomorrow. What alcohol do you guys like to put in eggnog?
I ended up in jail with all your frats
Why waste good alcohol by putting it in eggnog? That said, I would vote for Mt. Gay Barbados Rum. For those who have dairy issues, Rice Dream comes in eggnog flavor. I make oatmeal with it!
All of the above!
Punchbowl eggnog:
1 quart dairy Eggnog
2 cups Whiskey
1 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup Rum or Brandy
Get two Eggs and Three Nogs and a bottle of Jack Daniels.
Mix the eggs and the nogs together thoroughly and place them in a glass container in the refrigerator.
Chill a glass tumbler in the Freezer for ten minutes add Ice Cubes and two shots of Jack Daniels and sip quietly while contemplating what to do with useless Eggnog in the refrigerator.
(Why waste perfectly good Alcohol by adding eggnog?)
My final suggestion is to try all the suggestions here and those by others as well. Just don't be driving or operating any kind of machinery!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

brandy or, for a special treat, SOUTHERN COMFORT.....
Absinthe.
Yeah, make her cut off her ear!
The good is the enemy of the best.
Get GOOD rum, GOOD Bourbon, GOOD brandy.
2 parts Brandy
1 part Bourbon
1 part Rum
As a ROUGH guide:
Assume all your hooch is 80 proof = 40% alcohol.
A quart egg nog = 32 oz
1/4 cup rum + 1/4 cup Bourbon + 1/2 cup Brandy = 8 oz
8 x 0.4 = 3.2 oz alcohol and 4.8 oz NOT alcohol
resulting mixture is
32+ 4.8oz NOT alcohol = 36.8 os NOT alcohol
3.2 oz alcohol
3.2/36.8 = about 8.7% OR 17.4 proof.
That’s stronger than beer but not as strong as hooch. I think it’s a pretty good strength.
Obviously, I like brandy. To me it’s exotic.
Best to drink it straight, and save money by skipping the eggnog! Times are hard.
Appleton makes a fine dark rum. Koala makes an excellent spiced rum but it’s made in Hawaii and may be hard to find. Nutmeg on top of course.
Now you have gone and done it. Southern Comfort!
Back in the day, my teetotaling mother, bless her soul, decided she would help make cherries jubilee with angel food cake, for serving out of her silver service and flambee dish. Well, being as she really had no idea about liquor, she went to the State Liquor Store and explained what she was going to do. The guy there sold her Southern Comfort to use when serving the Cherries Jubilee, since they are supposed to be served alight.
Well, the time came, and there were the plates all decked out the with cake and cherries. They wouldn’t light up. So, she kept pouring dribs and drabs of Southern Comfort on them until voila! They did light up.
Everyone was served. It was very elegant.
Then, we all took bites........
That Southern Comfort bottle had a storied existence as a momento of that occasion.
True story. Very sad. She had worked hard on that.
It looks like you've been hitting the rum.
Pour four fingers of bourbon in a glass. Freeze a scored lime.when frozen, put into the bourbon until cold, let it sit for a minute or two. rub rim with orange slice and bown sugar
Take out lime stir once and drink.
Wash rinse and repeat till snickered. Note to self, tell bartenders to drop you off at the beach.
Rum and blended whiskey.
Jim Beam Rye, Templeton Rye if you can afford it.
there’s more than one kind?
