But one thing is for sure, whenever i hear these days somebody says: I will not do that if SHTF or I ll do only that if SHTF whenever i hear that i feel sick. Wait and see
Truth is: You never know how far you are going to go with some things in order to survive, there is no chance to know that before SHTF, everything else is only talking and discussing in front of PC, in nice and warm room, safe, not hungry or thirsty and not under fire or chance of losing life or that loved ones get murdered anytime.
And to make things clear, I am not approving some things that i wrote about, i am not advocating some actions, everyone has to find the line and choose his own good or bad actions. I just share what happened and how I experienced it.
One thing is to suggest what kind of medicines you must have in storage, but on some other things there is no advice, it is all on you. It is a mindset thing and no equipment can help.
Most of the people, great majority of people is ready to say instantly: I am good man, and i ll do only good things when SHTF.
Truth is, when SHTF, lot of that good and nice people forget on that strong decisions, mostly after first few close gunshots or explosions, or after finding out that local food store is gone, just like any other store.

Quark: "Let me tell you something about Hew-mons, Nephew. Theyre a wonderful, friendly people, as long as their bellies are full and their holosuites are working. But take away their creature comforts, deprive them of food, sleep, sonic showers, put their lives in jeopardy over an extended period of time and those same friendly, intelligent, wonderful people... will become as nasty and as violent as the most bloodthirsty Klingon. You dont believe me? Look at those faces. Look in their eyes."
Prepper’s Ping!
Black clouds cover the horizon, the lightening is flashing and there is the distant sound of thunder! The storm flags are going up, who you heed them?
I am very aware that if its the great end that there is nothing I can do to stop or change it, but history is full of instances and times when man or nature have caused such a calamity that people have cried out and begged God to end it all.
The bible has many verse such as this:
A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it.
NIV Proverbs 22:3
This verse and others are there for a reason and I urge all to take heed of them, because we are clearly on the edge. Everyday there is a new story about the Yutes who grow more restless everyday and when you add the fact that because of the economy people are already on edge it wont take much to set things off.
Reminds me of one of my favorite quotes:
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: The Siege of AR-558 (#7.8) (1998)

Today we have yutes who roam our streets who are with out morals, without respect for law or life itself. They will look are you with the same doll eyes a shark does before he eats you and they will feel no more compassion than the shark does.
That will be the test of many. Most preppers I know are Christian people and they will hesitate to do what they might have to do to stop the yutes. On the other hand the yutes wont think twice nor lose a minute of sleep, in fact they will smile and laugh about it.
For those who are just starting or are old hands at prepping you may find my Preparedness Manual helpfull. You can download it at:
http://www.tomeaker.com/kart/preparedness1i.pdf
(NOTE THIS DOWNLOAD IS FREE AND I DO NOT MAKE A DIME OFF OF IT. ALSO NOTE THAT THE MANUAL IS CLEARLY MARKED AS NOT BEING FOR SALE. I PUT TOGETHER THIS MANUAL FOR ONLY ONE PURPOSE AND THAT IS TO HELP FELLOW PATRIOTS TO PREPARE THEMSELVES FOR WHAT I BELIEVE IS COMING.)
For those of you who havent started already its time to prepare almost past time maybe. You needed to be stocking up on food guns, ammo, basic household supplies like soap, papergoods, cleaning supplies, good sturdy clothes including extra socks, underwear and extra shoes and boots, a extra couple changes of oil and filters for your car, tools, things you buy everyday start buying two and put one up.
For a somber, yet realistic look at what SHFT is like read some of Selcos post:

If you like to read more about what SHTF in Bosnia was like take a look at this post on Bosnia War Survivor Selcos Blog at:
There is no greater disaster than to underestimate danger. Underestimation can be fatal.
As the LDS say When the emergency is upon us the time for preparedness has past.

Quae nocent, saepe docent .......:o)
I agree. I have made allowances for charitable giving. I have been preparing for over 12 years. I have also made plans for the opposite. We do not know what tomorrow will bring.
The gates are down, the signals are flashing,
The whistle is screaming in vain,
If you stay on the tracks,
Ignoring the facts,
You cant blame the wreck on the train!
Let me guess, you have 50,000 rounds, a bunker and you need more ammo......
Not even close. One thing how many fire fights do you think one might live through? Any more than a couple thousand for your main defensive weapon is a waste.
I suggest you thumb through my Preparedness Manual before you critique me.
I have, several times. I'm just being an ass. If I read just once more about BLOATING or losing weapons in a canoe accident, I'm going to freak....sorry Kart.
I, too, am sick and tired of those stupid references to losng all their guns in a canoe accident.
It’s not only the never-ending posts on this but why would one would one have all his weapons on a canoe? It just is monotonous and makes no sense.
And I’ll bet they think they’re being clever.
Yes, apparently they believe the law can't access FR. Wierd. Anyway, I keep my weapons in a safe, except for the few I might need for predators. I don't take my Garand canoeing.....
Well then I guess I won’t post about taking mine SCUBA driving and ........ ;-)
the opinion of tooo many is...I have always wondered.....can you shoot the M1 under water.....never had the balls to try it myself....;)
That reminds me.... this one time when I was canoeing.. ;->
I dunno, gold bugs tell you to have gold for SHTF. Gold is expensive and who knows what the price will be tomorrow. Ammo however, is useful, relatively inexpensive, doesn't decrease in value and can be used for barter or resold. Most gun owners have .22 LR and shotguns. Quantity in those two seems like a good investment to me.
And thanks for the ping!
Not to mention it is easy to burn through a few thousand rounds over a month or two of weekend practicing, so might as well buy in bulk from Cheaper than Dirt.
Ammunition is not a horrible investment, but an even better investment would be in gaining skills that will be in demand in tough times. That would include any type of work associated with repairing equipment, medical services, etc.
Not trying to be a smart-a$$ but if you have the money to invest in gold for debts, why not just get out of debt now?
