Iowa tea party: wants to keep details private on deals with Palin staff
WingRight.org ^ | August 31, 2011 | Beverly Nuckols, MD (hocndoc)

RedState's Erick Erickson tweeted that something's going on between Sarah Palin and the Iowa Tea Party., just as the Wall Street Journal reported.

I looked up the reference Mr. Erickson gave, and there's definitely something going on, but it's "private, for now."

Christine O’Donnell is off the guest list – again – and Sarah Palin is a “maybe.”

In the latest episode in the drama over the speaking lineup for Saturday’s Tea Party of America rally in Iowa, organizer Ken Crow said Palin’s staff called this morning to say Palin’s appearance at the rally was “on hold” until three changes were made.

“They said, ‘Ken, can you take care of bing, bing, bing’ and I said, ‘Yessir, I will’ and I did,” Crow, an Indianola Republican told The Des Moines Register.

“Now I’m waiting to hear back.”

Crow said two of the requests were logistical details: Email a copy of the program today, and address concerns about back-stage security and who will be allowed in that area.

Asked about the third request, Crow said: “Can I let that remain private for now?”

Okay.

Other than my wish that Governor Palin would make up her mind (about the race, btw), you are the only one assuming that she is the cause of any of the news in Iowa.

It is slightly odd that the program is changing on August 30th and 31st, when the event is September 3rd.

The local Tea Party is the one inviting and un-inviting Christine O’Donnell, and the one who is treating her the same way that others have treated Governor Palin.

You are the only one actually claiming that any of this is due to Governor Palin.

Palin is playing games? I don’t think so!

Christine O’Donnell lost her election. Get over it. Why invite her to an event like Iowa’s when she isn’t a candidate for any office?

In the meantime, Ken Crow, big Rick Perry supporter, is doing everything he can (including lies) to sabotage Sarah Palin.

Gov.Rick Perry told Sarah Palin he was not going to run for President. He lied. He is a thoroughly dishonest person who plays politics to Power and a RINO, hence he is sabotaging Sarah Palin whenever he can.

“I wish the Palin camp weren’t playing these games.” Your quote, from post#1.

Dang! You’re no more truthful than Ken Crow or Rick Perry.

Mere projection on your part.

There is an unpleasant odor building around Ken Crow...

I like Christine O’Donnell so much I sent her $100 during her run for senate. The GOP establishment dumped on her causing me to like her even more. From what I’ve read, she has been cleared of all alleged wrong doing. She speaks eloquently and stands on the same issues as I. Bless you Christine.

Sorry about that, I meant the much-reported “hold” on her appearance.

It’s odd that the demands - whatever they are - came 4 days before the event.

I sent Jim DeMint $100 for her campaign. I’ll admit it was in reaction to Rove’s rants.

However, I don’t understand treating so badly. On/off/on/off.

According to a post elsewhere on FR, the “demands” had to do primarily with security.

From the way Rick Perry supporters have been behaving, no doubt she requires protection not just from left-wing idiots but bat-shit crazy RINOS as well.

As I said on the other thread about this media-generated hoax:

"One thing missing in all of this... somewhat signally, might I adduce... is any word directly from Sarah Palin. Until and unless I hear anything directly from Palin, this is all just a pack of PDS warp-horroids playing in the mud.

Don't fall for it. We all have higher aspirations, I'd like to think, than to behave like a bunch of string-hung puppets for Machiavellian filth like this to jerk around at their diseased whim.

"I wish the Palin camp weren't playing these games."

I'm sure they wish you weren't playing these games, too.

When did we stop using euphemisms on FR? This used to be a place I could read without all the cuss words.

I haven’t seen anything deserving anything other than political protection, much less worthy of calling Perry supporters “bat-*excrement* crazy RINO’s.” Could you point to an example?

I think Palin playing the reluctant bride is starting to affect the nerves of a lot of people like Tea Party volunteer organizers who don't feel like getting stressed out over her intrangiency any more in things like scheduling events. Some apparantly feel compelled to leak what should be inside arrangement stuff.

Side-effects and fall-outs from Palin's secretive and "unconventional" modus operandi may be becoming evident now.

Playing a campaign straight and openly has been around for well over a century and there's much to be said for it. Palin's game of "campaign" or "non-campaign" has kept Republicans and conservatives off-balance and dis-united for too damn long.

In any case, there's ongoing politically-harmful milling-around and nasty divisiveness in the GOP and Tea Party ranks (as evidenced on FR threads)....and all for just one reason....the ongoing, politically-paralyzing soap opera "As The Palin Campaign Churns".

I don't care who anyone supports, but it's ridiculous that a precious amount of months of any political campaign is tied in knots by one person....with no end in sight....especially when we have to beat the Devil.

I want to pick a candidate to support and GET GOING NOW on my personal campaigning with all the idiots I meet every day.

Leni

I like CO as well. However CO should have realized this was not the time to be there,JMHO

Perhaps she had really planned to announce on Saturday and was thrown for a loop instead

How do you know Palin Camp is playing games? Have you info on this? I have read all there is, and it`s only speculation.
