Henry Juszkiewicz, the CEO of Gibson Guitars, Inc. was on The Dana Loesch Show on Friday. Gibson is under attack by the the Obama Justice Department for accusations that the company broke American Indian laws.
Juszkiewiz said the government suggested that the company's use of unfinished wood from India is illegal, not because of U.S. law, but because of the Justice Department's interpretation of a law in India. The Holder Justice Department raided at least two Gibson manufacturing plants this week forcing hundreds of workers off their jobs. Juszkiewiz says the company lost a million dollars this week.
Finally, Henry Juszkiewicz told Dana, "The Obama Justice Department wants us to just shut our doors and go away." He says he will continue to fight for the Gibson company and its workers.

Lay down a back beat and crank up your trusty Gibson, son. Had a 1954 Gibson Les Paul that I sold back in 83. I’ve been kicking myself ever since. I have always been a Fender man and to this day my main ax is a 73 Telecaster. Also have a couple of Strats and a couple of Ibanez guitars. Gibson makes a fine guitar they always have. Who could have thought I’d be reading about a raid by the US Government on a Gibson guitar factory over some Indian wood? The current Attorney General is nothing but a punk. When will this nightmare end.
From your link:

One of Gibsons leading competitors is C.F. Martin & Company. The C.E.O., Chris Martin IV, is a long-time Democratic supporter, with $35,400 in contributions to Democratic candidates and the DNC over the past couple of election cycles. According to C.F. Martins catalog, several of their guitars contain East Indian Rosewood. In case you were wondering, that is the exact same wood in at least ten of Gibsons guitars.

If you have a vintage guitar do not travel with it. If it is 1940’s or older it may well have been made from product now deemed endangered. If that instrument isn’t accompanied with papers it will be confiscated. This is the United States, Right?
“They can come for drummers, “
Well,,, you know how you can tell if the stage is level? ,,,,,,,, If the drool is coming out of both sides of the drummer’s mouth!
Yep...couldn't agree more!
I only own one Gibson (currently), a 2004 Les Paul Standard, but I do hope to one day own an ES-175. While these are expensive instruments, I've never been critical of Gibson for the prices...you get what you pay for.
I had to chuckle at your comment about the “bashers” using the oft touted: “Too many quality control issues.” I know Gibson had some issues in the 1970’s with quality control, but what company doesn't? It's also been my observation that if a Gibson owner does encounter a problem with quality, Gibson will fix, or most often REPLACE the instrument in question. Gibson also offers incredible finishes, and various options for folks who are on a budget. Good grief, they offer 7-8 selections of Les Pauls from Gibson USA shop, trying their best to accommodate the person who wants a Gibson, but on a budget. But if these tightwads think Gibson is going to give their instruments away...well, they're nuts. I always think of my Les Paul as a piece of art.
Sorry to rant, but this company is an American success story. These instruments have been used to produce some of the best music (all genres) in music history. They are perhaps one of the most sought after guitars around the world. There's nothing that these Marxists won't destroy! FUBO!
I need to acknowledge that you were right on it. Thks.
Someone needs a copy editor.
Did they take an oath to this dude or our Country?
All freedom lovers are under attack by Hussein and his cabal.
Was.
You are most welcome. If we cannot laugh, this administration will drive us crazy...
Csar action on mainstreet.
By brother has a good friend who does street preaching in a major southern city. He was stopped and questioned by Homeland Security. He was told he needed to check in with them before preaching again.
Raw materials for fine handcrafted quality products are not commodities. If the best wood for special guitars of a particular design and behavior comes from India, then you can’t just get replacement materials from another continent.
Is this for real?
Just sneak thousands of guns into Mexico inside of guitars, and use them to kill 100s of Mexicans and two U.S. federal agents.
Then the DOJ will be in total coverup mode.
I just pulled out my custom-colored ‘57 Strat, and plugged it into my ‘56 Pro Amp. I hate humbucking pickups, but this cr@p is ridiculous! I do have an ancient SG in a closet somewhere. P-90 pups are the only Gibson pups worth talking about. But,,,, I had a ‘58 Flying V that sounded great though my White Showman,,,,, both stolen. If I still had it? I’d sell it and buy a condo in Florida! But when I had it, it was just an unpopular 12 year old guitar.
Calling Rolling Stone Magazine!!! Are you gonna step up and take care of your own? Or will you continue to be the useful idiots that you currently are and always have been?
It’s going to boil. This community agitator will get it and then some.
